President Report Dear fellow ASPE members: I hope everyone enjoyed our meetings at Brio this year! To make the experience even better (and because the res-taurant suddenly closed the weekend after our last meeting), we are moving (1) restaurant over to La Sandia for the remainder of the year. It is still located in Tysons Corner Center, so there’s not a lot of difference for travel. This month we are pleased to have Kenneth E Isman, PE, Clinical Professor of Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland, to instruct us on hydraulic calculations for sprinkler systems! If you haven’t been to a meet-ing this year, I think you should consider making it out this February 25. CPD exam registration is open. If you plan on taking the exam this year, please register as soon as possible. Remember that ASPE is your resource, and your responsibility. There is precious few organizations dedicated to the practice of Plumbing Engineering, and the opportunity to give and receive knowledge, as well as interact with indus-try peers, begins with our chapter. Your participation might impact the future of plumbing engineering in ways you cannot imagine. Respectfully, Joseph E Niedzielski, CPD Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer – Bala | Meta Engineers President – Washington DC Chapter, American Society of Plumbing Engineers
