The Hairy Toe & Academy News
On Friday 11th April, the Academy put on their performance of The Hairy Toe, which was performed in front of an audience. Becky’s granddad said “it was very good”.
The next performance from the Academy will be in early July, and will be from the Wednesday group.
Hope School Workshop & Theatre Company News
On Thursday 24th April the Theatre Company did their annual performance and drama workshop at Hope School with the students from Hawkley Brook College. This year, they did a dance and mime to the song “Copacabana”. The students enjoyed taking part in the workshop.
Also, Jenny will be starting with the Theatre Company soon, after she had a few taster sessions.
Movers News
Kayleigh has been on a healthy eating plan, and has got “Slimmer of the Month” and lost a whopping 7 pounds in 2 weeks! Becky is now being weighed every month, she is very happy now she can be weighed along with the rest of the group, and is doing really well. Well done Kayleigh and Becky!
The Movers are also looking forward to getting out and about more and doing more activities outside as the weather gets better.

Performers News
The Performers are hard at work with their rendition of excerpts from the musical “Oliver!”, which they will be performing later in the summer.
Birthdays
There have been a few birthdays again this month - Laura Stretton and our manager Sue Seager have both had their birthdays this month, but there’s also been a special 21st birthday for the Academy’s Becky Kellett!
A lot of her friends from the Academy went to her party and had a great time, and Becky says she didn’t get home until 1am!
A New Name for the Newsletter
After a month of discussions, we have decided on a new name for the newsletter, and here it is… “The Backstage Pass”! Quite apt for services with dramatherapy at their core!
As for the new layout and template, we’re still working on it.
Antmusic - from the Editor
Once again I’ve been let loose to tell everyone what I’ve seen at More Than Words either side of the Easter break - I’ve seen different audiences watching what we’ve been doing, with the parents, carers and old friends at the Academy’s “Hairy Toe” and the students of Hawkley Brook College at the Theatre Company’s “Copacabana” and drama workshop, and preparing for events in the summer. So when we have been in this month, we’ve been hard at work!
Both “The Hairy Toe” and “Copacabana” and the forum theatre at the Hope School workshop will be on this year’s Moments DVD (along with highlights of the Celebration Day). Hopefully it will reach you all before March 2015.
