The Hydralift 42A4874HBGC Lift intended sole purpose for lifting a motorcycle/std golf cart for transport only, It’s function should not be used for any other purpose or reason other than its fore mentioned purpose. To use the system for any reason other than what it is designed for will void our warranty and may result in damage to the coach and/or cause serious injury or even death.

Before actuating the system, please keep these things in mind:

1. Prior to use the location should be clear of obstructions that may cause damage when the lift is raised and lowered or interfere with personal access.

2. Be sure all persons and animals are a minimum of 6’ away from the lift prior to operation of the lift.

3. Keep hands and other body parts away from the lift mechanisms during operation. Severe injury or death may result.

4. To optimize the lift operation, park the coach on solid and level ground.

5. When loading and unloading make sure the lift’s platform supports are touching the ground.

6. Before towing any vehicle it is your responsibility to always verify clearance from the Hydralift Motorcycle Lift to the vehicle you are towing, including turning angles both vertical and horizontal movement. If additional clearance is needed use a receiver extension to extend your towing system out away from the Hydralift tie down arms.

7. Verify the Hydralift frame is flush to the mounting saddles and the mounting bolts are tight prior to every use. This should be also done as a regular scheduled maintenance 4 times a year whether or not the lift is in use.

8. Verify the 6 set screws that hold the lifts pins in place are tight, prior to use. Add Loc-Tite if necessary (there are 2 set screws per side on the main 4” body and 1 on each side to the upper hydraulic ram pin).

9. Inspect the motorcycle lift and ramp for damage, breaks or cracks prior to loading your motorcycle.

10. Verify your RV has ample GVWR, CCC & tire specifications and condition.

DO NOT:

Do not exceed the RV manufacturers (GVWR)

Having persons under the age of 16 operate the lift.

Put loads on the lift wider than the width of the lift.

Operate the lift while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Transport humans or animals on the lift or on the motorcycle while loaded onto the lift.

Do not use worm type straps. Hydralift recommends using quality ratchet type tie downs straps. See Hydralift part number

HL2608.

Do not attach, install or place any type of skid wheel to the any part of the Hydralift.

Do not weld, cut or modify the lift in any way, this will compromise the integrity and strength of the Hydralift and will void the

lift’s warranty.

When operating the lift:

Keep to the safety instructions!

Stand back at least 6 feet.

Make sure that there is no one near or standing on the lift.

Always use approved tie down straps (ratchet type, HL2608 or equivalent).

Congratulations, you have purchased the Hydralift Motorcycle lift, you’ve made an excellent choice. Before using this lift you need to read this manual very carefully in order to operate his lift in a safe manner.

IMPORTANT: Read and follow the instructions given in this manual.

SYSTEM WARNING

MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

D) Installed to the extruded aluminum platform is 4 tie-down anchors (fig 5A). Sometimes you may have interference with the rear tires as the rear tracks sometimes are wider than the front (fig 5B). If this happens order an optional second set of bolt sliders move the tie-down anchors inward out of the way of the tire (fig 5C).

E) Using ratchet tie-down straps (Hydralift part #HL2608) connect to the tie-down anchors in a cross pattern from the anchors to the cargo’s under chassis (fig 6).

F) A second connect and good alternative for securing your cargo is to run a tie-down over the floorboard and forward to the tie-down anchors and or thru the wheel to the tie-down anchor (fig 7).

G) Sample of securing cargo see fig 8.

H) Verify that no part of the tie down straps can touch the cargo’s paint or any part that can become damage by the tie down rubbing against any part of the cargo.

A) Lift is in up position locked position. Walk to the place from where you need to operate the lift. Take the remote control unit in your left hand and push the UP button and allow the lift to come up slightly releasing tension from the locking arms (Fig 1). Use your right hand to pull up the locking mechanism handle to unlock, and hold. (Fig 2)

B) Push the DOWN button and lower the lift a few inches and let go of the button, let go of the lock-ing mechanism handle and stand back 6 feet. Push the DOWN button again and lower the lift until it is flat on the surface, the underside is sitting on solid ground. (Fig 3) Let go of the DOWN button.

C) Now the lift is ready for loading.

Make sure there is no obstacles on the floor and around the lift.

Verify the platform is sitting on the ground and supported by the ground.

Place and secure extension ramps to the platform if needed.

Slowly drive up onto the platform (Fig 4)

Continue until the front wheel contacts the front wheel stop.

Place in park and set the parking brake.

Verify the Cargo is sitting on the platform.

If your RV is equipped with air suspension dump the air prior to lowering the lift. This will lessen the angel of the lift and allow more clearance for the motorcycle’s highway bars and exhaust system.

Loading the Motorcycle/Cargo onto the Lift:

Note: While driving, make regular stops to check if the Cargo is still

properly secured. Perform the first check after a few miles and re-adjust & re-tighten tie-down straps as needed.

While opening the lift, always keep one hand on the remote control in order to be able

to stop the lift at all times.

Pay attention making sure your cargo does not hit the Motorhome.

Inspect all your tie downs for proper fit and clearance.

J) Push the DOWN button and hold it down for 10 seconds, this releases the hydraulic pressure from the cylinders and lines and drops the auto locking arm onto the locking pin. (fig 9)

Hydralift is now locked and the hydraulic pressure is released from the system.

K) With the lift in the up and locked position recheck that your cargo is properly secured and stable. Verify the tie-downs are taunt and are properly connected (fig 10).

L) Unplug the remote control and store it in a locked and safe place. This will prevent unauthorized persons from operating the lift.
