Motorized Activity on Legacy Seismic LinesThe Challenge
What We Did
Northern Boreal:
Seismic lines with a lot of off-highway vehicle (OHV) use will probably needactive restoration.
We surveyed 422 seismic lines and linked OHV use with seismic line features.
Higher use on dry seismic lines in areas with moreindustrial activity.
Western Foothills:High use on dry seismic lines with lower vegetation, farfrom cutblocks .
Eastern Foothills:High use on flatter seismic lines inareas with fewer roads and otherseismic lines.

Modeling Approach to Prioritize Restoration Efforts. Environmental Management.doi: 10.1007/s00267-018-1063-0
What We LearnedWe mapped 21,777 km of seismic lines where we predict high OHV use and where active restoration may be required.
