Investigate your insurance options: Talk to Snappy Removals & Storage. Ask Snappy Removals & Storage to deliver boxes for self pack items. Arrange transfers of schools & day cares etc.

2 weeks before your move Check the garden, garage, shed, under the house for items to include in your move. Dispose of hazardous items that your removalist is not permitted to move. Organise to have young children and pets looked after on the day of the move. Startpackingselfpackitems-labelallcartonswithroomlocationidentification. Contact family, friends and business regarding your change of address. Arrange for connection of phone, electricity, gas and water at your new address.

1 week before your move RequestPostOfficetohaveyourmailredirected. Cancel or redirect newspapers and any other deliveries. Confirmarrangementsforcareofchildrenandpetsduringyourmove. Make a list of things to do on moving day. If battery powered items are going in store, remove all batteries. Make arrangements for parking or access for delivery trucks, vehicles etc.

2 days before your move Arrangenecessaryfinanceforpaymentsonmovingday. Dismantle any furniture that requires it (or our removalist can do it for you on the day). Put all bolts, screws etc into a small self sealing bag and tape to the base of the item. Pack luggage or those things that you will require immediately after your move. Disposeofremainingchemicals,flammablesandgarbage. Take down and pack curtains and blinds if you are taking them. Conclude your packing. Check all items are on your inventory and boxes are marked.

1 day before your move Defrost and clean your fridge and freezer. Wipe inside with vanilla essence if storing. Dispose of opened food items that will go off within 2 days if not unpacked. Clean out medicine cabinet and properly dispose of unwanted drugs. Check all drawers and remove heavy or fragile items and any containing liquid. Preparewashingmachineaccordingtothemanufacturer’sspecifications. Leave your new contact details for the new occupants.

Moving day When our removalists arrive ensure they know where to park their vehicles. If you are unable to be present ensure that you appoint an agent to act on your behalf. Walk around the house with our removalists to show them exactly what you want done. Pack yourself a survival kit with toiletries, tea, coffee, milk and other drinks Collect all house keys Check all cupboards and storage areas (inside & out) to ensure nothing is left behind.

At your new house Locate all keys to your new house. Check that gas, electricity, water and telephone are connected. Turn on hot water system Ensure your pets are safe and out of the way of our removalists. Have our removalist place heavy furniture in the room and position that you want.
