Move Towards The light

Page 2: Move Towards the Light

The Light Consists Of Everything Good And Positive In The World

At all costs, you must stay connected to the light.

The more time you spend around the light, the closer you will become to being the light.

There Are Many Instances Of Light In Your Life:

• When you see a child smile at you

• When you meet someone that you have a good connection with

• When you find the perfect job

• When you get a promotion or a raise

Life’s greatest times are when we are overcome by

the light.

Darkness, On The Other Hand, Can Come Through In Other Ways:

• When someone harms you, or blames you unfairly for something

• When we are either gossiping negatively about others, or are a part of a conversation that is

• Being involved in cheating, lying, and stealing

• When we hurt others

Every Aspect Of Your Daily Life Is An Expression Of Light Or Darkness

• The T.V. shows that you watch

• The comments you make

• Your thoughts and thought process

Life is a struggle to keep the light in our lives and keep out

the darkness

There Is A Story I Know About A Palestinian named Rabbi Akiva

Rabbi Akiva was considered a sage. He lived in the second century and at the

age of 40, he became a ba’al teshuba (a Jew who returned to traditional

Judiasm).

Rabbi Akiva Was Ordered To Be Executed After The Bar Kochba Rebellion Against The Romans…

For practicing the Torah after he had been warned against doing so.

On the day of his execution, he was very calm and confident. He did not appear angry or worried about who was to blame for bringing such injustice upon him.

You Must Consider Rabbi Akiva’s Calmness

He did not make himself out to be a victim as we all so commonly do. We always feel that someone else

has brought injustice upon us, not that we have done something deserving of punishment.

A lot of people spend their lives blaming everyone else for their own circumstances.

Rabbi Akiva’s Students Asked Him Why He Appeared Calm Just Before He Was To Be Executed

He replied that it was because he would be able to say the Shema (a common Jewish prayer) as he died.

This, he thought, would be the best moment of his life.

Rabbi Akiva Came Face To Face With Evil

He chose to rise above the most evil thing that could have happened to him, and to bring light into his life.

He saw his execution as an act of God, and an opportunity not to react to his captors with anger,

bitterness, or fear.

Often, When We Are Faced With Negative Thoughts And Ideas, We Let Ourselves Turn Negative As Well

Here, Rabbi Akiva shows us an enlightened way of NOT reacting to negativity and not letting it control

us.

The Greatest Advice I Can Give You For Your Life And Career Is To Do Everything In Your Power To Always Move Toward The Light

The more you truly live going towards the light, the happier, more fulfilled and better off you will be.

The more you are going away from the light, the more pain and suffering you will encounter in your life.
