Step One: Finding ContentVideo Films/Clips
• Create a folder on your flash drive. All your search results will live here.
• Create a word document for all your citations.• GOOD PLACES TO LOOK FOR VIDEO

How to Copy/Save Film /Clips • FROM unitedstreaming
– Log onto United Streaming.– Search for video films / clips by grade levels/subjects.– Select film or clip (segment).– Click on the disk icon to download.– Choose the correct player for your software.
• Windows media for PPT• QuickTime for other software
– Save in your folder. DON’T FORGET TO COPY CITATION!!!• FROM A WEBSITE
– Find a film / clip.– Right click on the selected video.– Choose “Save target as.”– Check to be sure the file you are saving has the
correct file extension• .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, etc…. NOT HTML
•Note: Be sure you copy the citation for EACH video file used

How to Copy / Save Images• FROM unitedstreaming:
– Log onto unitedstreaming– Search images [pull down menu]– Open image– Choose size (small or medium)– Save in your folder—DON’T FORGET TO COPY CITATION
• FROM A WEBSITE– Find an image– Open the image –NOT THE THUMBNAIL– Point to the image and RIGHT CLICK: Save as – Check to be sure the file you are saving has the correct file
extension• .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, etc…. NOT HTML

How to Embed Films / Clips into PowerPoint
• Note: You need to have the video downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed. – PowerPoint allows users to embed video clip
Windows Movie Maker* files.– To insert a video segment:– Click on the slide where you want to
insert a video segment.– On the toolbar, under Insert,
select “Movies and Sounds.”– Click “Movie from File.”– Browse out to your folder on your
flash drive.– Select desired film / clip.– Click “insert.”
How to Embed Films / Clips into Inspiration
• Note: You need to have the video downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed. – Inspiration 8 allows users to embed a
video clip QuickTime* files.– To insert a video segment:– Click on the main window where you
want to insert a video segment– On the menu bar, under Tools, slide down
to Insert Video or Sound, then select Video.
– Navigate your computer to the video segment you want to insert, then click Open.
How to Embed Films / Clips into Timeliner
• Note: You need to have the video Downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed.
– Open Timeliner– Double click on the Gray box next to the event (When).
The "Edit Event" screen will pop open.– Select "Pictures or Movie".– The menu will expand, and you will need to click on
"Import"– The "New Graphic" page will open, click on "Browse" -
change file type to movie.– Browse your computer to locate the video segment you
want to insert into the timeline. Single click on the title, then select "Open". Click on "OK" and the link to the video will be created.
– To view as embedded, run the "Slideshow". Click on the Slideshow icon on the top of the page and then click "Run Slideshow".
• FROM unitedstreaming:– Find the Video / Clip you want to link
in United Streaming.– From the Play button
to start the video /clip.– As soon as the video is playing,
RIGHT CLICK on the play button and choose “Copy Shortcut.”
– Open your PowerPoint.– Highlight the text or picture you want
to link.– From the toolbar, click “Insert:
Hyperlink.”– Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink.

• FROM A Website:– Find the video you want to link
– Copy the URL (either out of the browser OR point to the target and right click to copy shortcut)
– Open your PowerPoint.
– Highlight the text or picture you want to link.
– From the toolbar, click “Insert: Hyperlink.”
– Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink.
How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into Inspiration
– Find the picture or text you want to link.– Click on the hyperlink icon. To get URL from unitedstreaming:
• Start the video /clip.• When video is playing, RIGHT CLICK on the
play button and “Copy Shortcut”
To get URL from Website:• Copy the URL from browser OR point to the
target and right click to copy shortcut.• Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the
hyperlink in the web link box.
– Go Back to Inspiration and Ctrl-V will paste the URL in the Link to box.
– Click on OK.
All Inspiration versions allow users to hyperlink video.
How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into Timeliner
• Highlight an event and click Edit.• Select "Web Link".• LINK TO unitedstreaming
– From the Play button start the video /clip.– As soon as the video is playing, RIGHT CLICK on the play button
and choose “Copy Shortcut” – Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink in the
web link box
• LINK TO ANOTHER WEBSITE– Find the video you want to link– Copy the URL (either out of the browser OR point to the target
and right click to copy shortcut)– Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink in the
web link box
How to Insert Images into PowerPoint
• Images are stored in the folder on your computer…– Open PowerPoint.
– From the toolbar, click “Insert,” then “Picture” then “From File.”
– Browse out to your folder on your flash drive.
– Select desired photo.
– Click “Insert.”
How to Insert Images into Inspiration
• Images are stored in the folder on your computer…– Open Inspiration.– From the toolbar, choose Edit “Insert
Graphic.”– Click “Insert” then “Picture” then
“From File.”– Browse out to your folder on your
flash drive.– Select desired photo.– Click “Open.”– The picture will appear in your
document.
How to Insert Images into Timeliner
• Images are stored in the folder on your computer…– Open Timeliner.– Add an event– From the tool bar click “Add: New
Graphic.”– Click “Browse” to go out to your
folder on your flash drive.– Select desired photo.– Click “Open.”– You can move the picture wherever
you want on your document.
