This is my eleventh year teaching. I taught 2 years in Coffee County and 8 years at Siegel

Elementary. I graduated from MTSU in 2001 with a Bachelor’s

degree and from Walden University in 2009 with a Master’s degree.

I am married to Mr. Lance Southworth. I have a daughter named Giovanna. I have two dogs (Vegas and Lilly) My favorite color is red. My favorite food is sushi, but my favorite junk food is

If you accidentally forget your pencil you may borrow a pencil. If a neighbor can’t help, I have a pencil you may borrow. You will just need to sign the “borrow sheet” so I know what needs

to be returned.

Come in quietly (and sharpen pencils if needed).

Sit in your assigned seats and check the game plan.

Start warm up.

Daily Warm-up•Every day when you enter

the room you will have an assignment!

•You need to come in and start without my instructions!

•Each day the assignment will be on the board and/or the screen.

Raise your hand if you have a question, comment or answer. Don’t interrupt. Rude!

If you need a tissue… quietly walk to the tissue and return to your seat.

School rules state that restroom time is between classes. Should you have an emergency, we’ll talk. Otherwise, no one will leave the room.

If your pencil tip breaks, we will swap pencils until an appropriate time comes to visit the sharpener.

ALWAYS push up your chair when you get up!

Do not EVER go behind my desk or touch my things without my permission! RESPECT.

Hold trash at your desk and throw it away at the end of the lesson. Always wrap gum in small amount of paper to prevent any sticky accidents.

You will not be permitted to leave the room to go to your locker, bring what you need!

The bell does not dismiss you. I do!! I will check to make sure all pencils are

returned about three minutes before the bell. At one minute till the bell I will ask you to pick

up any trash that is on the floor. Even if it is not yours please remember this is OUR classroom we need to work together to make sure that it is clean!

Make sure to take everything with you. I am not responsible for anything you leave in here!

You are responsible for making up and turning in your work.

You have one week from the day you return to complete the make-up work!

Water bottles are acceptable. Healthy snacks are allowed, but I reserve the

right to remove the privilege if anyone leaves a mess.

Make sure all trash and gum gets thrown away.

COREWhen you are in my core class, your assignments will

generally be graded and recorded as part of your reading or language arts grade!

If you are absent you must also make up the core assignment that you miss!

Bring your library book to core!

You will each be assigned jobs, this will change weeklyThe jobs are:Sweeping the roomPutting up remaining chairsTaking out the trashStraightening desks

During dismissal you will remain seated!! If you are out of your seat without permission or leave the room before your bus is called, you will have a consequence.

When your bus is called, put your chair up on the desk.

When there is a sub in our room he/she is our guest!! I expect them to be treated like a guest…that means you will be on your best behavior!!

If your name is left, you will be asked to fill out a behavior log.

You MAY NOT MAY NOT be on computers when there is a sub!!

No food or drink near computers! Cannot get online until handbook page is

in! DO NOT download anything DO NOT go to music sites ONLY educational sites! (NO games) When we go to the lab we will walk

silently in a straight line down the hall. We WILL NOT bring anything with us!
