    Prior to start of welding, the welding foreman shall ensure that a copy of the relevan tapproved WFS [latest revision] shall be posted in close proximity to the work front . He shallensure that the welder is qualified and unders tands the parameters of the WPS . The weldershall ensure that he has the correctly conditioned consumables and that he is in hi spossession of adequate tools and tackle, including his identity card, to perform the weldin goperation .

    Welding consumables shall be stored and issued in accordance with procedure QC2-00-QAQC-CPP-000008

    Root and hot pass runs shall be a continuous process with interruptions only for change o fwelder position or changing of electrode/filler wire . No weld shall be left or moved until aminimum of 50% of the final weld depth or 5mm(whichever is the greater) has bee ndeposited.

    4 .7 Repair weldin g

    When welds fail to comply with the requirements, the excavated portion of the weld shal l

    be sufficiently deep and long enough to remove the flaw . Flaws shall be removed b ygrindin g or machinin g.

    Repairs s hall be limited to 30% of the weld length for a partial penetration repair, or 20 %of the weld length for a full penetration repair . When thes e cr i ter ia are excee ded then thewe ld shall be completely cut out an d remade.
