New Confessional and Work Sacristy Now Open!
Our new Reconcilia-tion Room finally pro-vides a dedicated space for confessions! In today's gospel, the Lord invites all who are weary and heavily laden to find a place of comfort and peace
where their burdens would be lifted and where they may find joy. This new facility offers a comfortable atmosphere for face-to-face or anonymous confes-sions. It also enables a priest or deacon a place for personal discussions or private counseling away from the busy commons. The new work sacristy offers Mass Coordinators a conven-ient place to prepare and cleanse chalices and patens and other sacred vessels with-out having to carry them throughout the whole church.
Please visit the chapel as well as these two new rooms after Mass, we trust that you would find them to be a pleasant addition to our beautiful church!
A Fond Farewell
David Friddle, our parish Music Director since May, 2013, is moving to Rochester, MN; this is his last weekend with us. While this is a great loss to our community, we respect his decision and wish him all the best.
During his tenure, David has been a wonderful asset to our community. By sharing his incredible professional skills and talents, he has greatly enhanced the quality of our music program. The choir will especially miss his leadership. It is with justifiable pride that Msgr. Chet refers to the choir as a “Cathedral level” choral group!
In our search for a new Music Minister, we hope to find someone who can continue to build on the foundation left by David and his immediate predecessors, Greg Homza and Allen Davis.
Please keep David in your prayers.

This campaign is being conducted as a united effort with all the parishes in our Charleston Dean-ery. There will be a collection box placed in the Commons during these months, and your items can be left at any time. We are requesting any house-hold items along with non-perishable foods and also gift cards. We will have a suggestion list of needed items near the collection box. Scripture Reflection
D oes the Holy Spirit dwell within you? If you are a bap-
tized and confirmed Catholic the answer is a resounding “yes.” How-ever, a better question might be “Is the Holy Spirit alive within you?” We are all gifted with the Holy Spirit, but how we respond to that gift varies immensely from one person to another.
St. Paul says as much in the Second Reading from his letter to the Romans. Paul says, “Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, (He) will give life to your mortal bodies also.” This produces a number of other questions for us as Catholics.
Given that the Spirit is within us, but does the Spirit guide us to Jesus? Are we prepared to be more like Jesus? Are we willing to be His disciple? And especial-ly, Is the Spirit working in our hearts? It is there for each of us, to strengthen us and fortify us and to be with us always. However, we have to accept and em-brace that fact. Living a life of stewardship is one of the ways we can do that. As our Bishops have told us in their pastoral letter on stewardship, “Stewardship is how you respond to Jesus’ call to discipleship and holiness.”
It is a challenge for sure, but it is within the grasp and the capability of each of us. We may have to work at it, but if we trust in God it is most definitely possible.
