Objectives

The Mewar Education Society, having successfully run various academic institutions for more than a decade, decided to establish Mewar

University for providing the students with a unique methodology of teaching which is not available in contemporary education.

Mewar University, situated in the land of Maharana Pratap, Rani Padmini & Mirabai – the embodiment of vigor, sacrifice and love, has

assiduously developed its environment for perfect blending of new age education, Indian values and ethics.

Within a very short span of time, the University has become a vibrant centre of human growth & excellence due to conducive coexistence

of students, teachers and the physical infrastructure.

Indian Education is passing through a very critical juncture as quality is taking a backseat. Students who seek quality education will now

have their destination as Mewar University, which started with a humble beginning with Swami Vivekananda’s ideology in mind that

‘Education is the Manifestation of Perfection already in Men’.

The experience of our highly motivated teachers helps this potent perfection to manifest in each of our student and enables him or her to

face the world everywhere and anywhere with resounding success.

The Campus

The University campus is situated in the vicinity of the scenic Aravali ranges and spread over sprawling 30 acres of land at Gangrar of

Chittorgarh District (Rajasthan), just 18 km. away from the city of Chittorgarh. The campus can be easily approached by road and

railway network as it is situated on NH 79 (Delhi-Mumbai Highway) and connected with all the major cities through broad-gauge railway

tracks and roads. The nearest airport Dabhok (Udaipur) is 100 km away from the campus and is well-connected with major cities through

regular flights.

Mewar University has the unique distinction of being the only University in the district of Chittorgarh (Rajasthan). The University has

been established to benefit students from every nook and corner of India and other countries. The University fills up the void in the field of

higher, technical and vocational education in the Mewar region which, in spite of being rich in terms of agriculture, industrial and business

growth, has lagged behind in education as compared to the neighboring districts like Udaipur, Ajmer and Jaipur.

The campus is divided into various functional zones like Academic and Administrative Block, Hostels and Residential complex for faculty

and staff. It has co-educational facilities with separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls. Besides academics, the well laid campus

provides all facilities for cultural, recreation and sports activities.

Page 11: MUEE – 2013 - Mewar University Ashok Kumar Gadiya Chairperson, Mewar University, Chittorgarh; Chairman, Mewar Institute of Management, Mewar Law Institute and Mewar Girls Business

Why to Choose Mewar University ?Education is a liberating force. Mewar University was established after decade long overwhelming success of running a number of institutes in various states. But not being the prisoners of glorious past, we pursued ceaseless quest for excellence by constantly breaking new grounds in teaching and learning process so as to provide cost effective seamless education to the students. Having run many institutions for more than a decade, various limitations held us back from achieving the goal of opening a free universe of knowledge, wisdom and purity of human growth and excellence. So to think big and to act bigger, we established Mewar University, where aspiration would lead to innovation without any boundary for human development, which would be natural and spontaneous.

The following features have given an edge to the students of this ever expanding University:-

Learning Environment

Research Facilities

Pedagogy for programs:

Every University strives to provide best possible research facilities and environment to its students and teachers. From its inception Mewar University has focused on it by laying emphasis on Ph.D. program alongwith providing best possible infrastructure appropriate for it. Reputed and renowned academicians of the country have been inducted as members of the research committee, which approves the topics for researchers and recommends the award of Ph.D..Thus relevance of the concerned research project is always kept in mind. Mewar University has expanded its horizon in the field of research; it can now boast of having international students drawn from places like Nepal, etc.

M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs are available in various faculties like Science, Technology, Social Sciences, Humanities, Vocational Education, Self-Employment programs, Women Empowerment and Awareness programs etc.

?Qualified, experienced and fully dedicated faculties

?Counselling

?Continuous sessions of lectures and presentations in

their subjects by the students in front of peer groups

to sharpen their communication skills and enhance

knowledge

?Sustained exposure to audio and video lectures of

eminent and world renowned Academicians,

Professors and Scientists through NPTEL & other

modes

The University conducts seminars and workshops on

relevant technical and current topics of interest. It also

has exchange programs with other institutes on a regular

basis.

Inter-class seminars on topics relevant to course

curriculum as well as for the enhancement of personality

are frequently organised. A calendar of such activities is

scheduled for each semester. The workshops and

seminars develop healthy practice of competition, active

participation, learning through sharing, discussions

and presentations. These forums help to build

self-confidence and power to express oneself freely while

opening the opportunity to develop indepth knowledge

on different topics and subjects. Students are motivated to participate in technofest and project work.

Counselling on various academic and non-academic matters is made available to the students. These include emotional, psychological,

pedagogic and cultural issues.

Apart from a dedicated Student Counselling Centre, which is open on all working days during study hours to assist students, the students

are divided into groups of modest size and each such group is assigned to a faculty member, who acts as a counsellor and remains

responsible for the group throughout the year. The students are free to contact the Counsellor any time for resolving their problems. The

Counsellor acts as a Friend, Philosopher and Guide for the students.

The Counsellors provide all required support to

students, particularly in terms of learning,

enhancement of skills, personal and career

counselling. Mewar University believes in making

the student as comfortable as possible and

virtually adopts the student for the whole tenure

of academic program. Full-fledged student

welfare officer is available 24 hours in the

campus to solve the problem of the students

instantaneously.

The University is also planning to develop a cell

that would not only track slow learners but would

also help them out in various ways so that they

could keep pace with other students.

Feedback System

Corporate Consultancy

Government, Industry-University Interface & Foreign Collaboration

Training & Placement Cell

The educational programs in the University follow latest methods of 360º feedback to keep enriching the course content, teaching

methodology and the academic environment. While the students are continuously assessed for their performance, they also play a role in

assessing the teachers and staff. The feedback is seriously analysed to introduce systemic improvement through counselling and other

proactive actions.

Mewar University plans to launch its Corporate Consultancy and Management Development program after careful planning and

extensive research. In a short span, Mewar University has started contributing effectively to the development of Indian Business, by

providing specialist knowledge in areas of strategic planning, decision-making and benchmarking. Apart from organising open

management development programs, the University is committed to develop a chain of multi-functional and multi-sectoral programs for

the corporate world, Government departments and NGOs.

The University promotes active collaboration with the Government, trade and industry. Students are required to undertake industry

oriented projects of their choice during their internship. This provides them real life exposure and understanding of practical problems in

the working environment of companies, besides helping them to stay focused on jobs, which they would like to opt for in future. Students

gain hands-on experience in the application of concept and skills. At the same time, this works out to be beneficial to industries in

choosing suitable candidates as prospective employees.

The University actively pursues collaborative ventures with leading foreign Universities to assimilate new developments in academics and

create better avenues for students. The University makes sustained efforts to arrange student exchange programs with domestic and

foreign Universities so as to empower the students with the best possible exposure to education process in leading institutions. The

University has signed an MOU with AIS ST HELENS University, Newzealand for the purpose and more such arrangements are in the

pipeline.

Our training and placement initiative is based on the basic fundamental of empowering the student with the required exposure in such a

practical way that on completion of studies, getting a job is not a consideration but choosing a job out of various options is ensured for all

“ Take up one idea. Make that one idea

your life-think of it, dream of it, live on

that idea. Let the brain muscles, nerves,

every part of your body, be full of that idea

and just leave every other idea alone. This

is the way to success”

Swami Dayanand Saraswati

“ He, who after careful thinking, is

ever ready to accept truth and reject

falsehood; who counts the happiness

of others as he does that of his own self,

him I call just.”
