Application

The Multimeter 560CVD03 is used for measuring analog AC in-put signals from three independent phases. For each phase volt-age and current are measured directly and a number of calcu-lated values are generated by the module. The module supportsconfigurations with 2 or 3 voltage transformers.

Characteristics

The Multimeter is a microprocessor-based Intelligent Electron-ic Device (IED) intended for current, voltage, power and energymeasurement.

Current and voltage inputs are connected via transformer only(see Wiring). The module supports a configuration with 2 voltagetransformes (3 wire connection) and 2 current transformers. Asecond configuration is with 3 voltage transformers (4 wire con-nection) and 3 current transformers.

Calculated values are scaled by user programmed constants forcurrent and voltage transformers. All values are updated onceper second.

The current inputs withstand 50 times nominal current for 1 s.

Power Measuring Display

The display is available for the versions R003x and R005x. Itswitches automatically the displayed measurement page screen.

The scroll mode can configured with RTUtil500:– Manual mode: Each screen will be displayed for 4 minutes.

The push button can be used for switching the pages man-ual.

– Scanning mode: Each screen will be displayed for 6 sec-onds.

Meter Operation

The following measured or calculated values are available fromthe module.

Instantaneous Meter Values

Following values are measured by true RMS conversion

Measurement Measuring Path

Neutral voltage Phase 1-N, 2-N, 3-N

Phase voltage Phase 1-2, 2-3, 1-3

Current Phase 1, 2, 3

Active power (Watt) Phase 1, 2, 3, total

Reactive power (Var) Phase 1, 2, 3, total

Apparent power (VA) Phase 1, 2, 3, total

Power factor (PF)

PF = |cos phi| + high bit set for leading

load (high bit 0 for lagging load)

Phase 1, 2, 3, total

Frequency System

Phase rotation Positive/ negative sequence

The Multimeter supports 4 quadrant power values.

Energy values

Integrated total (intermediate and end of period readings) arecalculated for:– active energy negative– active energy positive– reactive energy capacitive– reactive energy inductive

Voltage / Current Distortion (THD)

The 560CVD03 provides a measure of the total harmonic distor-tion (THD), in each phase voltage and current waveform, as apercentage deviation from pure 50Hz or 60Hz sine waves.

THD is calculated by Fast Fourier Transform algorithm (FFT) for:– U1, U2, U3– I1, I2, I3
