DESCRIPTION

This was conducted during our Research Summit . It was about my thesis last 2003 when MI was at its peak. I hope that this will help those who needs advice and knowledge about MI Research Proposal. God bless fellow knowledge-seekers!

The theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI) was

developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner,

professor of education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of

intelligence, based on IQ testing, is far too limited.

Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of

human potential in children and adults.

Page 6: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

The study aimed to identify the multiple intelligences comfortability levels of

fourth year students in Antipolo National High School, Antipolo City during the

school year 2002-2003.

Page 7: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

The respondents were 200 fourth year high school students of ANHS. They

composed ten percent of the total population of the graduating students

who were randomly selected from different sections and grouped

according to their third year general average.

Page 8: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

The study used the descriptive method of research which determined

the multiple intelligences comfortability levels of the students.

The statistical tools used were percentage, weighted mean and rank.

This study was conducted to identify the multiple intelligences comfortability

levels of fourth year students of Antipolo National High School, Antipolo City during the school year 2002-2003.

Specifically, the study attempted to answer the following questions:

Page 11: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

1.What is the profile of the respondents in terms of

a. Sex

b. Age c. General Average d. Ethnic Origin e. Preferred course in

college

.

Page 12: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

2. What is the multiple intelligences comfortability level of each of the

following groups of students?

a. High Achieverb. Average Achievers c. Low Achievers

Page 13: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

3. Are there similarities/differences among the multiple intelligences

comfortability levels of the three groups of students?

Page 14: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

The major findings of the study are:

1.Majority of the respondents are females, 16 years old, Tagalogs,

mostly low achievers, and preferred Management as their

college course.

Page 15: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

2. The high achievers are comfortable with Intrapersonal, Existentialist,

logical-Mathematical, Visual or Spatial, Linguistic, Bodily Kinesthetic,

Interpersonal and Musical Intelligence.

Page 16: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

3. The average achievers are comfortable with all the nine

intelligences.

Page 17: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

4. The low achievers are comfortable with Intrapersonal, Bodily Kinesthetic,

Interpersonal, Musical, Visual or Spatial and Existentialist Intelligence.

Page 18: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

5. The three groups of achievers have similar comfortability levels

relative to Intrapersonal Intelligence and different

comfortability levels as regards to Logical, Bodily Kinesthetic and

Interpersonal Intelligences.

Page 19: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

The following conclusions are formulated:

1. Fourth year students are most comfortable with Intrapersonal

Intelligence.

Page 20: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

2. Students whether they are high, average or low

achievers, are comfortable with Intrapersonal

Intelligence.

Page 21: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

In view of the foregoing conclusions, the following are recommended:

1. School administrators and curriculum planners should conduct seminars and trainings on Multiple

Intelligences.

Page 22: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

2. Educators should recognize and develop the talents and skills of their

students.

Page 23: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

3. Teachers should vary their presentation of materials in learning style, which engages most or all the intelligences. They should make and

use lesson plans applying the principles of Multiple Intelligences.

Page 24: Multiple Intelligence Research Proposal

4. A parallel study should be conducted to determine

Multiple Intelligences of the students.
