Presentation/Project Information

• All information is on my webpage on the school website

• Students will select a musical topic.  They may select a group, a time period, a genre and important person or anything related to music.  Topics must be determined on a first-come first served basis prior to September 6.  No two students may do their projects on the same topic. There will be a "sign up" sheet posted at a later date.

• Students will be graded on the following:• Content--Each presentation should have a true introduction that explains what the audience can expect to

hear/see during the next few minutes.   Students should explain 3 points concerning their topic.  • Creativity--this includes use of color, number of slides.  Power point presentations are required unless the

student decides to use some other type of venue approved by me.  This project should reflect the personality of the presenter and offer unique ways to present information.

• Pictures--Students are required to have at least 10 still photos or a combination of photos and videos.  (If using a video, you must have at least 5 still photos).

• Listening Examples:  Students should have at least one listening example• Presentation to the class:  Students are required to present their power point or other type project to the

class.  Presentations under 4 minutes or over 7 will be penalized.  Ideally the presentation should be 5 minutes in length.  Students should select a method for presentation of which they are most comfortable.  I suggest that they do not read large amounts of information to the class.

Academic Honesty

Plagiarism is literary theft. Failure to cite the author of any language or of any ideas which are not your own is plagiarism. This includes any text you might paraphrase as well. Penalties will result upon the submission of any plagiarized work. It is easy and simple to properly cite all sources. Take no risks—cite your sources.
