January brought us snow, however the course stayed in fairly good shape for the first part of the month. We got more golf in this month than in recent years. We are looking forward to a great year.

The Golf Committee and Golf Shop Staff are working to ensure that this season is a great one. We have just received refrigerator magnets with all the tournament dates for the year on them, and they will be going out to all full members shortly.

We have also gotten some good deals for next years clothing. If there is any way that we can assist you, do not hesitate to ask. Remember we can order almost anything that you want for sporting needs and try to beat the large retailers in pricing.

We are hoping that the course stays playable and we can get the Penguin Open in this year. That tournament is scheduled for February 27th and will be a 10 am Shotgun start.

The Golf Tip that has gotten me through many rounds was given to me by Sinjin and Sarah’s First Tee Pro, Don Reynolds. If you are over the ball with a 9 iron and are thinking “I really need to get a hold of this one”….You have already lost! Go to the 8 iron and swing smooth.
