EN INGLES Liverpool is a city and municipality in the metropolitan county of Merseyside in the Northwest of England, on the east side of the Mersey estuary. Bounded on the north by the metropolitan municipality of Sefton, the east by the Knowsley, south and west by the said river. Today is the second UK port in volume of exports after London. The popularity of The Beatles and football team Liverpool Football Club Liverpool turn contribute to a tourist destination, tourism plays a significant role in the economy of the city. In 2007 celebrated its 800th anniversary, and the following year was the European Capital of Culture along with the Norwegian city of Stavanger.3 In 2004, several areas along the city center was declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
