    Question: Hi, Regarding Server manager... There is quite a bunch of configuration to make it work from Workstation

    if Server and Client PC are in separate VLAN. Is there any HowTo? (Bing didn't help me yet)

    Answer: That's the idea of VLANs right. If you cannot connect the server they you will not able to manage Server

    using Server Manager if Client & Server in different VLANs.

    Question: i mean the drives used to create the pool ?

    Answer: Yes. Basically you need the drives to be available in the Disks. Once ready you will create Pool of connected

    drivers & then prepare the new Thin Provisioned Disk etc.

    Question: Should you use hardware RAID AND storage pools?

    Answer: You can definitely implement that. But the basic idea is to use the JBOD disks to create a thin layer of

    storage pool to create LUNs for your storage based requirement by leveraging best of Storage Technologies

    implemented in Windows Server 2012

    Answer: Yes you can dynamically add more disks.

    Answer: Yes, if you want to take your current drive and turn it into a VHD try Sysinternals Disk2VHD then use

    BCDBoot to boot it.

    Answer: That's not going to work as you can only install onto an x86/x64 chip (i.e. Intel or AMD)

    Answer: They are actually the same IE with two different UI options - from the Start Screen, IE is intended for full

    screen browsing of content, so the chrome is eliminated to allow for more fluid reading and scrolling through

    content.

    Answer: Is this a homegrown app? It may be possible to have it compiled in Visual Studio to work with the RT

    technology. Write once, publish to many is the forward. If this is a commercial app you purchased, urge them to make

    an RT version of the app.

    Question: Can an existing stripe set be converted to a storage space? Any benefit? Windows 8

    Answer: it can't - when you take over a drive or include it in the pool - it has to be offline or unused. Pre-initialized

    disks will not show up in the picker.

    Question: Is windows 8 built for touch screen ?

    Answer: While yes the WIndows 8 experiance is much better on a touch screen, it will run flawlessly on a non-touch

    notebook. There are also accessories such as the Touch Mouse that will enhance the experience of Windows 8 on a

    non-touch notebook.

    was an issue there for a bit.

    Answer: For the reverse, I believe you would have to ensure you have the newest available version of the RDP client

    on the legacy machine

    Answer: sorry - one thing we can't talk about is future things.

    Answer: Well these are 2 different browsers but using the same Internet Explorer Core Engine. 1 designed for non-

    add-ons. i.e. Windows 8 Style & the Desktop Browser supports all add-ons. We call them "Internet Explorer 10 &

    Internet Explorer 10 for Desktop"

    Question: when i joined a test windows 8 install to a domain in an an ou with no group policies applied to it i found

    the windows x key menu disabled?

    Answer: It should work. WINKEY+X

    Answer: I have done an export from Windows 8 Hyper-V and imported to Windows Server 2012. Should work both

    Answer: Since not all websites are touch optimized yet, we have provided both ways of launching IE(touch and

    desktop versions). If you find a website is not acting appropriately then you can swipe up from the bottom and tell

    the page to launch in the desktop version.

    Answer: Yes. It is called as Min-Shell. You can enable Windows Feature for Graphical Management Tools on Server

    Core Box.

    Answer: We see value in combining both technologies - Hyper-V Network Virtualization to provide network layer

    isolation and 3rd party stateful inspection firewalls for hostile network security zones such as external and DMZ

    network segments that may require limited connectivity to internal networks.

    Answer: Basically you will need Licensing for Virtualized OS. Not like Windows Server 2012 Datacenter.

    Answer: Third party software can be installed on Hyper-V Server to manage it, but you'll want to check with your

    vendor to see if your RAID monitoring software is supported on Hyper-V Server
