MVTX Insertion Scheme
January 29th, 2020 MVTX Final Design Review 3
• Insertion system will • Support MVTX• be hand driven to allow for precise control. We will have x, and z adjustment on each half, and
the table adjustments will allow for pitch, yaw and elevation control during insertion. This will allow for corrections due to expected sag of MVTX, during insertion. (sub mm level)
• be tested during mockup testing of full device with cooling tubes and cables attached.
• The MVTX will be surveyed in it’s final position. This will require input from the BNL survey group during the design phase to determine where we put fiducials on the system.
• All cables and cooling tubes will be terminated at PP3before insertion.
