The MWS Microwave Work Station is designed to perform temperature, pressure, and other measurements in a microwave oven equipped with a turntable. The use of fi ber optic sensing technology allows complete immunity to microwave energy and accurate and reliable measurements inside the microwave oven cavity.

The Microwave Work Station is directly controlled through a desktop or portable computer and comes with the FISOCommander Workstation software for com-plete sensor and Microwave Work Station control and test session and results management.

The Microwave Work Station fi ts all food developer and tester needs. It emulates the specially adapted microwave oven. User-confi gured programs include steps to control power level, cooking time, and special oven features.

Thanks to its unique patented technology, the Microwave Work Station is capable of measuring the absolute cavity length of FISO’s Fabry-Perot fi ber optic sensors with astonishing accuracy, providing highly accurate and reliable measurements.

The Microwave Work Station is compatible with all of FISO’s fi ber optic sensors, including strain, pressure, temperature, displacement, refractive index, and force and load. FISO’s fi ber optic sensors offer complete immunity to RF and microwave radiation with high temperature operating capability, and intrinsic safety. The sensors are also designed to withstand harsh and corrosive en vironments.

The Microwave Work Station allows automated data collection and seamless data exchange with standard spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel™ or Lotus 1-2-3™. Data includes microwave oven information, power level, cooking pro-gram and associated steps, along with temperature and pressure readings collec-ted during the test session. Pictures of the sample under test and the positioning of the sensors can also be saved in the test fi le. This valuable information can be easily classifi ed and retrieved anytime allowing comprehensive data analysis and comparisons.

The Microwave Work Station includes a microwave oven equipped with a turn-table and a communication interface, a fi ber optic rotating unit for temperature and pressure measurements, the FISOCommander Workstation Edition software, all required wiring, and a comprehensive instruction manual.
