My fist hunger for justice, that is the line of Po, the barely perfect example of hero in Kung Fu Panda 2. Directed by Jennifer Yuh, Po now as Dragon Warrior worked together with the Furious Five (Tigress, Monkey, Viper, Mantis and Crane) as a team must journey their quest to stop Lord Shen, an albino peacock who have evil plan to create an ultimate weapon to destroy China and the world, but the Dragon Warrior must find his true inner peace to against Lord Shen.

Kung Fu Panda 2 plot is basically pick up from the film Kung Fu Panda, now that Po is the Dragon Warrior and together with the Furious Five they worked as a team to keep the valley of peace safe from a new threat. As Lord Shen scheme an evil plot to destroy China and kung fu, he use his ultimate cannon weapon to kill Master Thundering Rhino and captured Master Storming Ox and Master Croc in order to conquer Gongmen City and eventually China. The development of the plot develops when Master Shifu instructed Po and the Furious Five to stop Lord Shen and save China from the deadly weapon upon the news of Master Thundering Rhino death. Po and his friends embarks their journey and they save Master Croc and Master Storming Ox from prison but they refuse to fight back to prevent Lord Shen use his weapon against China. Then, Po and his friends met Lord Shen by letting themselves to be captured by the wolf boss. Po and the five free themselves and fight but Po is distracted by his childhood flashback and enable Shen to getaway and use a collection of cannon to destroy the tower. The climax can be identify when Po were distracted by the past memory, Po ignored Tigress reminder and breaks into the factory to seek answer from Shen. Shen grab the opportunity when met Po and use cannon to blasts Po into the river. The soothsayer save Po and help Po to remember his past and come to terms with his inner peace. After knowing his past, Po wants to prevent Shens plan to conquer China and he returns to Gongmen City to save the Five. He manage to stop Shen using his inner peace and blasts Shens armada by redirecting Shens cannon balls. Shen lost his sanity driven by his anger and he is crushed by his own cannon. As the battle had ended, Po and the Furious Five returns to the valley of peace. He visited is adopted father, the goose and despite knowing he is adopted, he treated and acknowledged Mr Ping as his father. At the end of the story, in a far away village lived by pandas, Pos biological father has a feeling that his son is alive.

We could enjoy our self with the main character, Po the clumsy panda. In Kung Fu Panda 2, he is a dragon warrior who is also a student of master Shifu and adopted son of Mr Ping, the goose. Despite his clumsiness, he is a very brave warrior who wants to protect his country. As we follow Po in his journey to stop Shens evil plan, we could see his determination and responsibility carried on his shoulder. I could say the Po character is fit together with the character of antagonist, Lord Shen, an albino peacock. He was a prince of Gongmen City and very fond in gunpowder and warfare. Shen was exiled by his parents when he leads his wolf to massacre a village of pandas, where Po survived. I enjoy watching Shen were annoyed with Po when Shen say The only reason you are still alive is that I find your stupidity mildly amusing and replied by Po Well thank you, but I find your evilness extremely annoying! , and even more fun with Po innocent face. But deep down I feel pity with Shen, he is lonely and losing his morality in order to succeed his parents throne of Gongmen City but eventually his parents exile him. Master Shifu appearance in Kung Fu Panda 2 are not much but he has a very important role when teaching Po on how to gain and achieve his inner peace by recalling his previous teaching session with Po and he also responsible for instructing Dragon Warrior and the Furious Five to stop Shen. The other character that left good impression to me is Tigress, one of the members of the Furious Five and also known as Master Tigress. She has a stern personality and cold attitude which is quite contrary with Po. Regardless of her stern personality, she is a loyal friend to Po and caring towards Po. We could take her quote as example, I can't watch my friend be killed", and pushed Po from second time Shens cannon blast. Master Monkey has backed a lot with humour and the most mischievious members of the Furious Five in Kung Fu Panda 2. Voiced by Jackie Chan, Monkey tune the story into humorous as we can recall his act imitating Master Cranes voice when saving Master Croc and Master Ox. Not to forget the scene when Po fall on him. Together with Po, Master Monkey compliment Po clumsiness and I must say I enjoy their combination in the story. If I must say the most caring member in the Furious Five is Viper. Other than Master Tigress, Master Viper is the second female member of the Furious Five. While Master Tigress has a very bold character, Master Viper has kindness character towards her friends. She likes beautiful stuffs as she likes to put small lotus flower on her head. The other member of the Furious Five is Master Mantis. He is the smallest member but also the strongest despite his size. He sometimes carried Po which I find it very amusing. The strongest element of Master Mantis is speed. He could win in a fight with his skill of metal breaking and speed with the difficulty of his opponent to see him still. Lastly, Master Crane is the only member of the Furious Five which could fly and he manage to save Po several time when Po having landing issue. Master Crane has cynical attitude but also a patience one. Cranes most popular kung fu move is wing of justice as he tries to obstruct Shens armada. Another group of protagonist is Master Council of Gongmen City which consists of Master Thundering Rhino, Master Croc and Master Ox. As we were known, Master Thundering Rhino died when protecting Gongmen City from Shens hold. He was killed by Shens cannon. They were first seen in the story when training together in the Gongmen City. Master Croc and Master Ox together were defeated by Shen and kept in prison. In my opinion, instead of brave, I found they are very thoughtful when refuse to leave the prison in order to prevent Shen from harming other people. Nevertheless, they join Po and the Furious Five at the end after persuaded by Master Shifu.

I found out there are quite a few themes in this story. One of the strongest themes which move my heart is the relationship of family. Mr Ping demonstrates a loving father who cares about his son, Po the panda even thought Po is not his biological son. We learn that no matter how high we are sitting, we should be grateful to the one that raise us. Besides relationship of family, another theme that we could grab in this story is friendship when Tigress stops Po from from meeting Shen after he distracted by his past. There were also scenes where Po and Tigress were hugging each other even though all members in the Furious Five made known of Tigress bold personality. Teamwork theme also were shown when Po and the Furious Five worked together to fight the wolf gang at the valley of peace and also in the Gongmen City.

Flashbacks were used a lot in the plot technique. A few example could be taken to prove is the scene where Po distracted by his childhood past after see the mark of Shens tail. The flashback technique also used when the soothsayer helps Po to remember his past, and when Mr Ping explained to Po about his existence. At the end of the film, we were shown Pos father and a group of panda live in a faraway village. Foreshadowing was used to highlight this in order to create hints about the films sequel. Its quite interesting when they left a question mark to build a sense of curiosity of the audience.

I couldnt help but to enjoy every bits of the story, however there are always things to improve. After watched the film, I find the strongest elements in the story are the character which adding humor elements. The humors and spontaneous action made me laugh and its enjoyable which is best to be watched by family and kids. Even though the story line is not heavy, but I think its quite good if the target audience is children. If I must compare Kung Fu Panda 2 with other animated comedy action such as Th Po as the mischievous and clumsiness. Its quite funny when Po really thinks the goose is his biological father despite knowing that he is a panda.
