Front cover – what images would you like?

The images on my front cover I should have one main image of a female to show that’s what the target audience of my magazine is. They should have style in their appearance to show they are young and represent female youth. Also the position and expression of the female on my magazine should be funky, leaning against a wall with a hoodie and headphones.

What would like to see on the front cover e.g. sell lines?

The cover lines for a RnB magazine should be interesting for the target audience, they should involve male and female RnB artists to attract the female audience, have interviews and some fashion stories to show the magazine has more to offer.

What colours would be appropriate?

The colours of the magazine should be bright and colourful to reflect the tone and rhythm of genre. So colours such as blue, pink, orange ect.

What type of language would you expect?

The language on the front cover of the magazine should be informal to attract the target audience. Urban language and slang should be used such as “swagger” and “flavour” to attract the audience and to represent the RnB genre.

Contents page - what type of images would you like and how many?

There should be a variety of images on the contents page to show what else is involved in the magazine. It also represents the ‘funky’ style of young teenage youth by having a variety of images positioned overlapped on the side of the page.

What would you want to be contained within the magazine?

The magazine should offer a wide range of things, mainly to do with the RnB genre as that’s the main purpose of my magazine. It should show more than just RnB music to keep the reader interested and entertained.

How much images and text would you expect?

On the contents page the text should just be mainly on the features and also an editors note, however there should a variety of images to keep readers interested and to show them what else will be included in the magazine.

What type of language?

The language on the contents page should be more formal that the front cover, this is to inform the reader more about what is involved in the magazine . However there should be some informality to represent the genre and for the target audience to relate to it.

Double page – what choice of images would you want?

On the double page spread there should be a main image that takes up one side of the page of the person the article is based on. This is so that the reader can use the image as a poster. The image can be of a male to attract the female audience and to keep them interested. The expression shown in the image should be fun and dominant to show the genre personality and to represent the age range.

What would you prefer the article to be about?

The appropriate article to have on the double page spread would be an interview with a rising artist at this moment. It would also sound direct and allow the reader to relate to the interview.

How would you expect the language to be?

I would expect the language to me informal as it will be an interview therefore the reader is able to relate to it and to make it sound more direct. Also I would expect a few slang words such as ‘yano’ and ‘yeah’ as stereotypically that’s how the people of my genre are seen.

Would you prefer more image or text based articles?

I think it should be balanced to keep the reader entertained and interested. I would like to have maybe 3 images then the rest of it to be text. It will be like an interview therefore it will still keep the reader entertained with few images.
