Chairman’s Comments

“Our aim is to have a vibrant rugby club that is fit to meet the challenges of modern sport. We will support our volunteers, coaches and players and work with the Rugby Football Union and Sport Cheshire to provide a members experience second to none.

We believe that we have three key objectives, to continue to grow our participation numbers, continually strive to provide a superb membership experience and to ensure that we protect the long term financial sustainability of CRUFC. Taking a long term approach will ensure that we can meet the challenges in our current senior rugby league both now and in the future.

This means our playing success and investment projects will be focused around our people and our facilities. The possibility of bringing other sports to Hare Lane on a formal basis will be considered as part of the plan. In addition within we will give greater focus to working with strategic partners including the University of Chester, Sport Cheshire and the RFU. Our aim is to further develop Chester Rugby Club within the City of Chester as a club the city can be proud of and as a sports club which provides for its City both on and off the pitch.”

Club Values

• Improving the Playing Experience– We will provide all players with a safe, secure and well managed playing environment that

strives to be a beacon of Rugby in West Cheshire. – Our business is transparent and based on the core value of the Rugby Union. We are one club

and all have a role to play to ensure that our club’s next fifty years are as successful as the last.

• Improving the Membership Experience– We will ensure that performance on the pitch is matched by those off it in respect of our

business management, governance and membership experience.– Our decisions are consulted, developed and agreed with all opinions counted and consensus

established before we agree a direction.

• Financial Sustainability– We are one club and all have a role to play to ensure that our club’s next fifty years are as

successful as the last. – We all have a responsibility to provide a sustainable, financially sound and community focused

club through our actions and decisions.
