I am a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology as of May 2014. Creating things puts breath into my lungs and I can’t imagine life without it. I have an eye for good design, a strong conceptually creative mind and a great color sense that I hope you will get to experience. Over the past 8 years I’ve had some great job experiences. I worked at MAC cosmetics for 6 years before moving to NYC and after graduation worked at a high- end nail art studio in SOHO called Paint-Box. Both jobs enabled me to grow creatively and have contributed to my knowing that I want to be in the design industry. During my time at MAC and Paint-Box I served my customers, learning how to communicate and deliver exactly what they asked for. In addition to helping customers I was part of an inspiring team. At MAC I was team leader and conducted meetings, came up with contests to keep the artists inspired, and implemented strategies to get difficult selling products moving. At Paint-Box I taught a color theory class for artists as part of their training program. As a whole I think the greatest achievement, in any design job, is getting everyone to be team players and inspiring each other to create original and beautiful art for the job at hand. During my time at FIT I had the opportunity to be on a team hand picked by school faculty. Amazon Fashion did their first ever “Studio Sessions” competition that consisted of 4 NY design schools. We were instructed to come up with an editorial campaign image to present to a panel of high acclaimed judges including Eva Chen and Ivan Shaw. We worked together as a team to create this image and had to communicate and take into consideration a number of things. We chose the wardrobe and styled our model, came up with our layout and composition, designed the set and photographed the image, all while staying with the consistency of the Amazon Fashion brand. As top contenders my team and I gained valuable industry experience. During my last semester at FIT I worked as an intern for Design Works International under Creative Director Nancy Fire. There I learned the process of print production, the value of market research and how much trend/inspiration boards are a huge part to a company’s success. I was given a lot of responsibility including the construction and design layout of the Fall 2014 HGTV trend boards.

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Amber Morgan and this resume is a representation of my professional and creative character.

I worked at MAC cosmetics for 6 years before moving to NYC and after graduation worked at a high-end nail art studio in SOHO called Paint-Box.

In addition I helped pick out color and fabric inspiration for new and current projects and I designed multiple blog pages for their blog. Nancy and her team always asked for my opinion and I was able to express my thoughts effectively.

As of now I am working on my design business, amberjeanDESIGN, in my home state of Texas. I am very hopeful that my designs will be a huge part of the design world one day. My goal is to create beautiful prints and patterns that people want to wear and put into their home. Right now I have a shop on Etsy called amberjeanDESIGN where I’m selling my fabric by the yard, handmade decorative pillows, digital art, etc. I am learning a lot during this process like what it takes to successfully market a business and that once you take the plunge you don’t start making money overnight. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see my designs come to life and to see people enjoying my products. Even though I love designing for myself I want to experience designing and working for the mass-market world. I am eager to learn more!

Throughout my creative journey I have learned and am still learning valuable skill sets that I will not soon forget and will continue to use. I understand you have high expectations in filling any position available and I am confident I can exceed them. I am eager to gain experience in my chosen field and to learn all aspects of this industry. I would love to talk about the chance to be a part of yourteam Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,Amber Morgan
