LOG IN AND GET INTO YOUR COURSE

Click here

and log on.

Go to: www.coursecompass.com

ONCE YOU ARE LOGGED IN

You will see all the courses you have ever taught using MyMathLab.

Click on your current course.

GETTING INTO THE ASSIGNMENTS

Once you are in your course, at the bottom of the screen, click on “control panel.”

This is how you get into all the instructor functions of the course.

GETTING INTO THE ASSIGNMENTS

The most important places you will go….

1. The gradebook, to see how

students are doing

2. The homework/

test manager, to

alter assignments

3. Announce-ments, to let

students know what you want

them to do next.

PREVIEWING ASSIGNMENTS

Now you can see a list of all your assignment

Click the arrow to see a list of what you can

do.

The arrow brings down a pull-down menu. We’ll start by selecting “list questions”…

Then click “Go.”

This is a great quick way to see a list of the questions in the assignment, but without editing them.

Close the “list questions” box by clicking on the x.

PREVIEWING ASSIGNMENTS

Now let’s take a look at the questions themselves.

Click the arrow again.

This time, select “Preview,” just above “list questions”…

Then click “Go.”

Now you can do the assignment, as if you are a student.

On the right side, you can see the options the students can use.

Once you are done exploring, close the box by clicking on the x.

EDITING

You can edit this assignment, or make a copy and edit the copy. Choose what you want to do…

Then click “Go.”

Editing or copying and editing an assignment follows almost the same steps as creating one.

COPYING AND EDITING AN ASSIGNMENT

The students will see this name in their list of assignments.

Click next.

Rename your assignment.

TO ADD MORE PROBLEMS TO THE ASSIGNMENT

Choose the chapter and sections you want to use

Click here.

At the bottom of the screen, click “preview and add.”

EDITING AN ASSIGNMENT

Now you can see each homework question and decide whether or not to add it. Click “add” on the bottom right to add it, or “next” if you don’t.

You can even “work problem as student” – this option is at the bottom of the screen.

On the right side, you can see the options the students can use.

When you are done choosing, click close.

EDITING AN ASSIGNMENT

Now you can see the objectives for all the problems you have chosen.

You might decide to remove some problems by clicking the box next to them and clicking, “remove”.

Or you can preview and remove.When you are done, click “Next.”

CREATING AN ASSIGNMENT

On the final screen, I usually just his “save and assign,” but you might choose to place prerequisites, due dates, etc.

TO GET SUPPORT AND TO DISCUSS IMPLEMENTATION

Visit to our Blackboard discussion:

Go to Bmcc.cuny.edu, then click on cuny portal at the top.

Click on portal login, then on Blackboard Direct, then type in your Blackboard login (contact the BMCC help desk if you have trouble here).

Under organization search (on the bottom left), type BMCC Math.

Look for BMCC_Math_Dept and click on enroll. Now our department will show up under groups. Go into that group and click on discussions.
