HIGHLIGHTING OUR SUCCESSIN A YEAR OF CHANGE More than 140 Ecolab company leaders

were brought together last month at the 2014 global management

team (GMT) meeting to learn, collaborate and celebrate successes—particularly in the areas of customer growth and innovation.

This year’s GMT featured the first-ever Growth Awards, which recognized teams that are winning with our largest customers, leveraging our global footprint, collaborating across businesses and markets, and continuously innovating to grow our business.

The awards honored teams in four categories: Best Enterprise Sale, Best Business/Market Collaboration, Best Innovation and Best Customer Sale. The GMT used a voting process to select the winners in real time.

The oilfield chemicals (OFC) group was nominated (and subsequently won) the Best Innovation award for our peracetic acid (PAA) technology. David Horsup and Pete Schoemann represented the OFC teams in accepting this award. BEST INNOVATION – PERACIDS FOR ENERGY SERVICES

Historically a food and beverage (F&B) technology, PAAs were adapted for use in the Energy Services sector and have proved to improve oil-water separation, remove damaging hydrogen sulfide, reduce our customers’

environmental footprint in hydraulic fracturing, reduce toxicity, and help reuse up to 1.5 million gallons of water per job.

Key points that were highlighted in the nomination include:

y New to the oilfield, PAAs are proving to be a highly effective oxidizing biocide

y Compared to other products, offers higher margins and sustainable degradation products

y Initial success was greatly accelerated by Ecolab’s innovation pipeline (now third generation) and manufacturing infrastructure

y More than chemistry, this solution is based on unmatched service, focus on safety, extensive expertise, equipment and training

The PAA solution for the energy sector project is the product of hard work, agile problem solving and quick commercialization from the research, development and engineering (RD&E), supply chain, and F&B and Energy Services sales and marketing teams. A MOMENT TO PAUSE AND CELEBRATE

The event awarded honors to some, but highlighted the efforts and achievements of all nominated teams.
