2016-17

It is our great pleasure to put forward T&P report of 2016-2017 of N. B.

Navale Sinhgad college of Engineering, Solapur. It is not enough to tend

a garden; the plants must be encouraged to bloom and emit fragrance.

In the very same way, it is not enough to educate students to make

them knowledgeable, it is necessary to ensure that they are put on the

right path for becoming valuable citizens of the world. This is exactly

what the Training & Placement cell of N. B. Navale Sinhgad college of

Engineering, has the privilege of doing for the students.

We consider it to be an honour and opportunity to present to you a

group of young, dynamic individuals who have been groomed to face

challenges that lie ahead for them in the industry and corporate world

as a whole.

Our teaching pedagogy which includes presentations, case studies, live

projects, educational and industrial tours and participation in seminars

and conferences, club activities, sports and cultural activities which

help towards acquiring skills sought after and needed by Industries.

Placement being the ultimate objective of education, we concentrate

on it right from the first year itself. Aptitude Tests, Group Discussions,

Personal Interviews and Personality Development Workshop give

students exposure to various requirements of industries and train them

in every aspect.

We have energetic and dynamic team working in central placement cell

under the parental guidance of our Prof. J. N. Pitambare, Dean of

Training and Placement (Engg). With the same spirit in order to tie-up

with industry around the region we started developing our local

placement cell under the guidance of Principal Dr. S. D. Nawale &

Myself. The T & P Cell ensures that each and every student of the

Institution gets an opportunity to be selected for placement in some of

the best MNCs. They are trained and groomed to face the ordeals

arising out of selection exams and grilling interviews.

We are in the quest of international standards of excellence in all our

endeavours and we aim at creating a complete personality in our

students, professionally, socially and morally. The residential campus

helps us in achieving this goal by providing academic liberty to innovate

and come out with novel ideas. We assure that the industries will be

benefited from these young and lively minds.

We hope that many more would add in the near future. NBN Sinhgad

College of Engineering, Solapur has an impeccable campus placement

record during 2016-17. Our students have secured challenging and

highly paid positions in top ranking companies/organizations. Their

abilities are well attested by the excellent reports from the recruiting

companies.

It gives us immeasurable pleasure to report that around 190 students

have been selected during campus interviews in 83 different Industries

for 2017 batch even before they have appeared for their final semester

exams.

Following Activities are performed under T&P Cell.

A) Training Activities

Career guidance talks from Corporate/Renowned speakers.

Workshops and Seminars on Technical, Aptitude, Interview-handling

skills and Interpersonal Skills.

Special Training program on communication, soft skills and aptitude for

campus recruitment process to develop students to increase their

employability skills.

Personality development sessions

Organizes pre-placement talks, mock tests etc to prepare students for

final selection process.

Arrange Industrial visits, live projects from industries, internships for

the students.

B) Placement Activities

Invite corporate companies for on campus recruitment process of final

year students.

Scheduling campus visit for companies.

Organising HR meet.

The Placement Cell acts as a catalyst by concentrating on actions that

enrich the students’ career development and employability.

PLACEMENT REPORT 2015-2016

As a youngest cell of the Sinhgad engineering Institute, the Central Placement Cell (CPC), NBN

sinhgad College of engineering, kegoan, Solapur has started marching towards the goals with

impressing footprints. Students from our institute compete with students of Pune University at

various levels of placement and they are showing their abilities and winning attitude which is

resulting into opportunity of their career.

We as training & placement cell, put all our efforts to satisfy the student’s expectations for their

future career goals. After graduation, students those are planning to go for higher education. we

organize seminars, lectures for appropriate selection of course of university. But the Majority of

the students seem to be inclined more towards making their career in Multinational Companies.

We have worked on two parameters. First, we are developing student’s personality in a way by

conducting personality development programs by expert faculty members as well as industrial

experts. Second, our closely associated best corporate and our campus connect initiative had

helped us in organizing good number of campus drives for entry level recruitment.

As part of training and placement department we have tried our best but kind of energy required

during the training was not received and despite the fact that we have generated more than 500

opportunities in more than 40 world class companies and this very uncommon achievement for

any institute whose 3rd batch is graduating. The statistics of the placement is attached at the end

of report.

The entire idea of training & placement cell is to prepare graduates being in college, who are not

only well equipped in fundamental engineering subjects but also have the ability to integrate all

their skills they come across, to apply them in practical situations and also have professional

skills to effectively compete with today’s era, project management, effective communications,

logical & innovative thinking.

Learning from past experiences and understanding the current scenario, we have already started

our activities accordingly.

More than 500 Second year students trained on their Basic Communication Skill from

professional training institutes.

More than 400 Third year students trained on their personality development from


More than 180 Final year students and more than 300 Third year students accessed

adaptive test by Aspiring minds(AMCAT).

Guest Lectures of Eminent personalities arranged for students those who are interested in

administrative services.

We have allready started GATE coaching for students opting for higher education.

In continuation with above mentioned activities we have also planned and started providing

additional technical skills to the students which are demanded by the industry. To bridge the gap

between industry and academia we have plan to equip our engineering graduates with value

addition Program (VAP) and other required skill sets.

As youngest cell of the Sinhgad engineering Institute, the Central Placement Cell (CPC), NBN

sinhgad College of engineering, Kegoan, Solapur has started marching towards the goals with

impressing footprints. Students from our institute compete with students of Pune University at

various levels of placement and they are showing their abilities and winning attitude which is

resulting into opportunity of their career.

We as training & placement cell, put all our efforts to satisfy the student’s expectations for their

future career goals. After graduation, students those are planning to go for higher education; we

organize seminars, lectures for appropriate selection of course of university. But the Majority of

the students seem to be inclined more towards making their career in Multinational Companies.

We have worked on two parameters. First, we are developing student’s personality in a way by

conducting personality development programs by expert faculty members as well as industrial

experts. Second, our closely associated best corporate and our campus connect initiative had

helped us in organizing good number of campus drives for entry level recruitment.
