We WARRANT each TATA NANOand parts there of manufactured byus to be free from defect in materialand workmanship subject to thefollowing terms and conditions :1. This warranty shall be for 4 Years

or 60,000 kms, whichever occursearlier from the date of sale ofthe car.

2. Our obligation under this warrantyshall be limited to repairing orreplacing free of charge, suchparts of the car which, in ouropinion, are contributing toimproper operation, on the carbeing brought to us or to ourdealers within the period. Theparts so repaired or replaced shallalso be warranted for quality andworkmanship but such warrantyshall be co-terminus with thisoriginal warranty.

3. Any part which is replaced by usunder the warranty shall be ourproperty.

4. As for parts like tyres, battery,electrical equipment, fuelinjection equipment etc. notmanufactured by us but suppliedby other OE Manufacturers, thiswarranty shall not apply. Buyersof the car shall be entitled to, sofar as permissible by law, all suchrights as we may have againstsuch parties under theirwarranties in respect of suchparts.

5. This warranty shall not apply ifthe car or any part thereof is

repaired or altered otherwise thanin accordance with our standardrepair procedure or by any personother than from our sales orservice establishments, ourauthorized dealers, servicecenters or service points in anyway so as, in our judgment whichshall be final and binding, to affectits reliability, nor shall it apply if,in our opinion which shall be finaland binding the car is subjectedto misuse, negligence, improperor inadequate maintenance oraccident or loading in excess ofsuch carrying capacity as certifiedby us, or such services asprescribed in our Owner’s Manualand Service Book are not carriedout by the buyer through oursales or service establishments,our Authorized Dealers, ServiceCenters or Service points.

6. This warranty shall not covernormal wear and tear or anyinherent normal deterioration ofthe car or any of its parts arisingfrom the actual use of the car orany damage due to negligent orimproper operation or storage ofthe car. This warranty shall notapply to normal maintenanceservices like oils and fluidchanges, head lamp focusing,fastener retightening, wheelbalancing, tyre rotation,adjustment of valve clearance,fuel timing, ignition timing andconsumables like bulbs, fuelfilters and oil filters etc. This

warranty shall not apply to anydamage or deterioration causedby environmental pollution or birddroppings. This warranty shall notapply to V-belts, hoses and gasleaks (in case of air conditionedcars) & slight irregularities notrecognized as affecting thefunction or quality of the vehicleor parts such as slight noise orvibration and defects appearingonly under particular or irregularoperations or items consideredcharacteristic of the vehicle.

7. This warranty shall be null andvoid if the vehicle is subjectedto abnormal use such as rallying,racing or participation in any othercompetitive sports. This warrantyshall not apply to any repairs orreplacement as a result ofaccident or collision.

8. This warranty is expressly in lieuof all warranties, whether by lawor otherwise, expressed orimplied and all other obligationsor liabilities on our part and weneither assume nor authorize anyperson to assume on our behalf,any other liability arising from thesale of the vehicle or anyagreement in relation thereto.

9. The buyer should have no otherrights except those set out aboveand have, in particular, no rightto repudiate the sale, or anyagreement or to claim anyreduction in the purchase priceof the vehicle, or to demand anydamages or compensation for

losses, incidental or indirect, orinconvenience or consequentialdamages, loss of vehicle, or lossof time, or otherwise, incurred oraccrued.

10. Any claim arising from thiswarranty shall be recognized onlyif it is noticed in writing to us orto our concerned Dealer withoutany delay soon after such defectas covered and ascertainedunder this warranty.

11. This warranty shall standterminated if the vehicle istransferred or otherwise alienatedby the buyer without our priorwritten consent.

12. We reserve our rights to makeany change or modification in thedesign of the vehicle or its partsor to introduce any improvementtherein or to incorporate in thevehicle any additional part oraccessory at any time withoutincurring any obligation toincorporate the same in thevehicles previously sold.

Many features havebeen incorporated in Tata Motorspassenger vehicles which havebeen designed to ensureenvironmental compatibil itythroughout the life cycle of thevehicle. We would like to informyou that your car meets emissionnorms and this is being regularlyvalidated at the manufacturingstages.

As a user you too can protect theenvironment by operating your carin a proact ive manner. A lotdepends on your driving style andthe way you maintain your car. Wehave given a few tips for yourguidance.

DRIVING• Avoid frequent and violent

accelerations / rev-ups.

• Avoid overloading of theengine. Avoid using devicesrequir ing high powerconsumption during slow citytraffic condition.

• Monitor the car ’s fuelconsumption regularly and ifshowing rising trend get thecar immediately attended atthe TATA Authorised ServiceOutlets.

• Switch off the engine duringlong stops at traffic jams orsignals. If you need to keep

the engine running, do notunnecessari ly rev-up.Avoidstopping and starting.

• Do not rev-up the enginebefore turning it off as i tunnecessarily burns the fuel.

• Shift to higher gears as soonas i t is possible withoutoverloading the engine. Useeach gear upto 2/3rd of it ’smaximum engine speed. Achart indicating gear shiftingspeeds is given in this book.

MAINTENANCE

• Ensure that recommendedmaintenance is carried out onthe car regular ly at theAuthorised Service Outlets.

• As soon as you see anyleakages of oil, fuel or coolantin the car we recommend toget it attended immediately.

• Use only recommendedgrades and specified quantityof lubricants.

• Get your car checked foremission periodically by anauthorised dealer.

• Ensure periodic radiator finscleaning.

• Ensure that fuel filter, oil filterand breather are checkedperiodically and replaced, ifrequired, as recommended byTata Motors.

• Do not pour used oi ls orcoolants into the sewagedrains, garden soil or openstreams. Dispose the usedf i l ters and batter ies incompliance with the currentlegislation.

• Do not al low unauthorisedperson to tamper with enginesett ings or to carrymodifications on the car.

• Never allow the car to run outof fuel.

• Parts like brake liners, clutchdiscs should be vacuumcleaned. Do not usecompressed air for cleaningthese parts which may spreaddust in the atmosphere.

• While carrying out servicing orrepairs on your vehicle, youshould pay keen attention tosome of the important enginecomponents which greatly affectemission. These componentsare:

1. Fuel pump, Injectors and EMS(Engine Managment System)parts.

2. Air Intake and Exhaust systems(especially for leakages).

3. Cylinder head/Valve leakages.

4. All filters such as air, oil & fuelfilter (check periodically).

5. Ignition system & Spark plug.

6. Catalytic converter.

7. Carbon Canister.

Speedometer :The speedometer indicates speedof the vehicle in unit of km/h

Speedometer (EPS)

Speedometer (Non-EPS)Vehicle Speed Limitation:The vehicle is designed for a safespeed of 105 kmph. If vehicle isdriven above this speed, MIL lampstarts blinking and the vehicle fuelsupply will be cut off automaticallyto restrict the vehicle speed.Avoid driving the vehicle at speedsabove 105 kmph.

Temperature Gauge : (Only on EPSvehicle)

Temperature Gauge (EPS)

The Gauge indicates thetemperature level of the enginecoolant after Ignition ON .The redzone at ‘H’ indicates temperaturehigher than normal.

NOTICEIf the bar graph moves beyond thenormal range area toward the "H"position i.e Red bar graph, itindicates overheating that maydamage the engine. ,which maybe due to insufficient coolant in theradiator or due to any other defect.Take the car t the nearest TATAMOTORS Authorised servicestation.

Fuel Gauge (EPS) :The fuel gauge indicates theapproximate amount of fuelremaining in the fuel tank when theignition switch is ‘ON’.When fuel on the tank is near toempty position then 1st LED bar(Red Color) start flashing and lowfuel warning tell tale turned ‘ON’.

NOTICEAt every start speedo needlemoves to MAX and come back to‘0’ position. This is welcomestrategy and self check feature.

In case of flashing of 1st and lastbar of the LED with low fuel warningtell tale please contact Tata MotorsAuthorized Service Outlet.

WARNINGRunning the fuel tank too low orempty can cause your engine tostall and could endanger you andyour passengers.

You must stop and obtain additionalfuel as soon as possible after 1stLED bar start flashing and low fuelwarning tell tale turned on.On inclines ,curves, braking andsudden acceleration due to themovement of fuel in the tank, the fuellevel display may fluctuate or the lowfuel level warning lamp mayilluminate earlier than usual. Alwayscheck the fuel level when the vehicleis on level road.When the ignition switch is in the“ON” position, this gauge gives anapproximate indication of theamount of fuel in the fuel tank and ittakes few seconds to stabilize after

the ignition is turned ON .“F”standsfor full and “E” stands for Empty.Do not continue adding fuel after theautomatic shut off function isoperated if it is eqqipped on thegasoline pump. The sensor in thefuel tank may misjudge the amountof fuel remaining.Fuel Gauge (Non-EPS)

Fuel Gauge (EPS)

The fuel gauge indicates theapproximate amount of fuelremaining in the fuel tank when theignition switch is ON. When the fueltank is near empty position then "E"symbol starts flashing.

If the "E" symbol starts flashing it isrecommendable to fill the fuel assoon as possible. In case of flashingfuel icon on display please contactauthorised Tata Motors distributor.

NOTICEOn inclines or curves, the fuelgauge may fluctuate or the "E"symbol may flash earlier thanusual due to the movement of fuelin the tank.

WARNINGRunning the fuel tank too low orempty can cause your engine tostall and could endanger you andyour passengers

You must stop and obtainadditional fuel as soon as possibleafter "E" flashing comes ON orwhen the gauge indicator comesclose to the E level.

TELL TALES :

Electric Power SteeringWarning Indicator : (EPS)

It indicates the malfunctioning ofEPS (Electric Power Steering).

It will illuminate momentarily whenignition is switched ‘ON’

It will continuously illuminate ifmalfunctioning of EPS (ElectricPower Steering) occurs. Stop thevehicle at safe place and restart theengine, indicator should go off afterdriving a short distance If it stillcontinue to illuminate again whiledriving, contact nearest TataAuthorised service centre. In caseof EPS malfunctioning, increasedsteering effort will be required.

NOTICE1. Electric power steering is

operational only when engineis running.

2. In case of EPS malfunctioningor engine switched ‘OFF’condition, increased steeringeffort will be required.

3. In case of continues use ofsteering like driving in ghatsection or constraint parking,the steering may become

harder. This is normal toprotect the electric steeringmotor from overheating. It willautomatically restore duringnormal driving.

Low FuelIndicator : (EPS)

This symbol lights up momentarilywhen ignition is turned ‘ON’. Thesymbol lights up continuously if fuellevel in the tank is low. Fuel needs tobe filled immediately. It will blink ifthere is any fault in the system. Takeyour car to the nearest Tataauthorized service station if thesymbol starts blinking.

Turn SignalIndicator :

Turn signal indicators can beoperated only when ignition is ‘ON’.They can be operated by using theturn indicator switch on the combi-switch. The direction indicator arrow

(LHS) and (RHS) on theinstrument cluster flashes alongwith external indicators lights as perselection.

CAUTIONIf the turn signal indicators do notblink, then there may be problemin electrical system. If theindicators “Blink rapidly”, then thisindicates that a side indicatorbulb has failed. Get it rectifiedimmediately.

Front Fog LampIndicator (If equipped) :

Front fog lamps are provided on thefront bumper to improve the visibilityin foggy weather. The front fog lampswitch is provided on combi switch.

High BeamIndicator :The indicator light comes on whenthe High beam is selected or alsowhen he headlight flasher isoperated.

Check Enginelamp:This symbol indicates the car’sengine condition.1. It comes ON when ignition is

switched ON and once engine is cranked, it goes OFF.

2. It remains ON if there is aproblem in any of the enginecomponents.

NOTICEIf the Service lamp remains ONwhen the engine is running, theengine’s performance deter-iorates marginally & sometimessignificantly. Take your car to a TATAAuthorised service centre.

Malfunction IndicationLamp:This lamp indicates your vehicle’sengine condition when amalfunctioning occurs in the engine,wiring harness, EMS, etc. whichaffects the emission norms thislamp indicates as below:

1. Comes ‘ON’ when key is in ‘IGN’position and goes ‘OFF’ whenengine is running.2. Remains “ON” while the engineis running if malfunctioning occurs.3. Starts ‘BLINKING’ if continuousproblem of malfunction is observed,contact nearest Tata Authorisedservice outlet.

CAUTIONWhen “MIL” indicator is ON orblinking while the engine isrunning, the engine’sperformance deterioratesmarginally and sometimesdrastically. Please get themalfunctioning rectified at anearest authorized service center.

Low Engine OilPressure Indicator :This symbol lights up when theignition switch is turn to the ‘ON’position and goes out as soon asthe required oil pressure isdeveloped after starting the engine.The light will remain ‘ON’ if there isinsufficient oil pressure. If lightcomes on when driving, contactnearest Tata Authorised serviceoutlet immediately. Check the oillevel and add oil if necessary.

NOTICEIf the low oil pressure indicatordoes not glow or continues toremain ‘ON’ even with sufficientoil when the engine is running, itindicates a fault in the electricalcircuit/lubrication system. Check

and get the problem attended toat an Authorized Service outlet.Driving with low oil pressure maylead to severe damage to theengine.

Parking brake cumlow brake fluidwarning light :This indicator has multiple functionsas follows :• It lights up when the parking

brake is applied and goes offwhen parking brake is released.

• It also lights up when brake fluidlevel is low.

• When ignition key is turned to“IGN” position, this indicatorlights up and goes off whenengine starts in normalcondition. If it is continuously‘ON’ while engine is running, getthe problem attended at anauthorised service outlet.

CAUTIONDrive cautiously when theindicator remains ‘ON’ whiledriving. Get the problem attendedimmediately at an Authorizedservice Outlet.In the state of lowbrake fluid level, continuousnormal driving is dangerous.

Battery ChargingIndicator :Symbol lights up when the ‘IGN’ isturned ‘ON’ and goes ‘OFF‘ after theengine starts.

In addition the buzzer willalso start to warn the driver.Avoid driving in this situation andcontact nearest Tata Motorsauthorised service station fornecessary attention.If the driver continues to drive in suchsituation, both lamps and buzzer (asdescribed above) will continue andthe ECU activates the engine to limphome mode thus limiting the enginespeed.

Odometer :

Trip meter :

This mode indicates the distance oftrip selected since last trip meterreset. The trip meter working rangeis from 0.0 to 9999.9 km. Pressingthe SET button provided in Clusterfor more than 1.5 second when tripmeter (TRIP) is being displayed,reset the trip meter to zero (0.0).

Average fuel economy (AFE) :

This mode indicates average fueleconomy since last trip reset.Resetting of trip meter resets AFEvalue. Display indicates (— —) andnew average fuel economy value willbe displayed after after driving formore than 500m.

NOTICE• The DTE will update with new

value when fuel is added morethan 3 Litres at a time.

• The average fuel consumptionand distance to empty valuesmay vary significantly based ondriving conditions, drivinghabits, and condition of thevehicle.

• The distance to empty value isan estimate of the availabledriving distance.

• If low fuel warning light comeson, fill the fuel tank immediatelyregardless the value ofdisplayed DTE.

The OBDsystem allows continuousdiagnosis of the components of thevehicle correlated with emissions.This system warns the driver, byturning “ON” the MalfunctionIndication lamp (MIL) on theinstrument cluster, when a faultcauses emission levels to increase.The OBD system also has adiagnostic connector that can be

Key of ignition switch is commonfor door lock & steering lock.The ignition switch is on the rightside of the steering column. Theswitch has four positions.

START :

Turn the key further clockwise to theSTART position (spring loaded) tostart the engine. As soon as theengine starts release the ignition keyto ON position. While cranking, allaccessories will be momentarily‘OFF’.

NOTICEDo not crank the engine more than10 seconds continuously. If theengine does not start wait for 15seconds before cranking it again.Release the key immediately afterstarting the engine.

By turning the ignition key from ‘ON’position to ‘ACC’ position, enginecan be stopped.

Mechanical parking brake actingonly on the rear wheel is providedon your vehicle. The parking brakelever is located behind the gearshiftlever. To apply the parking brake, pullthe lever up fully. The indicator lighton the instrument panel will become‘ON’. To release it, pull the lever upslightly, press the release button andpush the lever down. The parkingbrake indicator on the instrumentpanel will go ‘OFF’ when the parkingbrake lever is fully released.

Gear Shift Lever :

Gear shift lever is mounted on thecentral console between the two frontseats. The gearshift pattern is shownon the gear shift lever knob.

All forward gears beingsynchronized, provide easy &effortless gear shifting. Alwaysremember to press the clutch pedalfully while shifting the gears and alsoto release the clutch pedal gently.

Glove Box : (If fitted)

Opening the front hood :

Ensure that the vehicle is in neutralgear with the parking brake applied.

To open the hood pull the hoodrelease lever located under the righthand corner of the dashboard insidevehicle. The hood will pop up slightly.

Location of hood release lever

Raise the hood slightly and withyour finger slide the secondary locklever located under the hood centre.

Lift the hood up. Pull the hood stayrod from its clip & insert the free endinto the slot in the hood, slide stayrod outward to secure.

Closing :1. To close the hood disengage the

stay rod and clamp it properly.2. Lower the hood and drop it from

a short height to lock.

Refuelling :

Fuel filling cap is located inside thefront hood. For refueling you needto open the front hood.Rotate the fuel fi l ler capanitclockwise and open to fill thefuel. After filling the fuel close the capby rotating clockwise till you heardclicking sound. Ensure that hood isproperly locked.

WARNINGFuel vapour is extremelyhazardous. Always stop theengine before refueling and neverrefuel near sparks or open flames.

CAUTIONRemove the fuel filler cap slowly,and wait for any hissing to stop,then remove it.Do not bend onfuel filler cap while opening. Thefuel may be under pressure andmay spray out, causing injury ifthe cap is opened suddenly.

Always use only originalspecification fuel cap or anapproved equivalent, available atTata Authorised Dealers. Thewrong cap can result in a seriousmalfunction of the fuel systemand the emission control system.While filling petrol, care should betaken, so that the fuel should notspill out on the battery.

• Reverse Cycling:

If unlock operation is performedby pressing the unlock button onremote after successful unlockoperation single flasher feedbackwill be given and roof lamp willturn ON with dimming effect.

Roof Lamp Control

• Roof Lamp Activation based onlock button press on remote:

If ‘Roof lamp is ON’, then ‘Rooflamp shall be switched OFF withdimming effect’

When IGN is turned from OFF toON & all doors are in closed state,then roof lamp will not getactivated.

3. Vehicle Seek

When vehicle is already in lockedstate with 2 flasher feedback byoperating the lock button on remote.If the user presses the lock buttonagain vehicle seek mode shall beactivated. When this feature is active,both turn signals shall flash for 2times i.e. number of flashes forvehicle seek mode shall be two and

vehicle shall continue to be kept inlocked state and shall not actuate theactuators.

Alarm Functionality

• Alarm Activation: If vehicle issuccessfully locked state bypressing the lock button on remotewith 2 flasher feedback arm modeshall be activated. During armmode if any unauthorised vehicleaccess is detected i.e. openingany door, turning the IGN to ONor CRANK with key, then RKEECU shall activate the audiblewarning for 27 seconds and visualalarm for 4.5 minutes. After 4.5minutes vehicle shall be remainedin arm mode. Maximum 10 alarmsequences can occur forsubsequent trigger event.

• Alarm Deactivation: If alarm isactive then by pressing any button(lock / unlock) on remote thenRKE ECU shall deactivate thealarm.

Battery Replacement:

• Remove the back cover which issnap fit.

• Take out the PCB with keymembrane and battery mounted.

• Separate the PCB from keymembrane.

• Remove a discharged batteryfrom PCB battery socket.

• Insert a new fully charged batteryinto the PCB battery socket.

DOOR LOCKING / UNLOCKINGGETTING STARTED

• Ensure that the +Ve polarity shallbe facing upward.

• Check the remote functionality onvehicle from at least 15 meters.

How to use seat beltsThis car has three point type frontseat belts and lap belts for rear seatout board occupants (LH & RH).Innormal driving, the belt lets youmove freely in your seat. In case ofan accident or sudden braking,inertia reel automatically tightens thebelt to help restrain your body.

The anchor end of the shoulder beltis adjustable to suit the height of thepassenger wearing it. The lap belthas one manually adjusted belt thatfits across the hip bone.

Make sure that your seat is adjustedto a good driving position and theback of the seat is upright.

10. The belts if required should bereplaced, by Authorisedpersonnel only.

12. Clean the webbing with a mild soapsolution recommended forupholstery. Bleaching or dyeing thewebbing may weaken it.

GEAR SHIFTING, BRAKING & PARKINGDRIVING

Gear Shifting :

The gearshift pattern is shown onthe gear shift lever knob. All forwardgears being synchronized, provideeasy and effortless gear shifting.Always remember to press the clutchpedal fully while shifting the gearsand also to release the clutch pedalgently.

Avoid sudden clutching i.e. abruptrelease of depressed clutch pedal.

NOTICEThe reverse gear should beengaged only when the car isstationary. Wait for 5 seconds afterde clutching to ensure smoothengagement of the reverse gear.

Braking :The distance required to bring a carto a halt increase with the speed ofthe vehicle. The braking distanceneeded for vehicle at 60 kmph willbe approximately 4 times greaterthan the braking distance needed at30 kmph. Anticipate your stop,slowdown gradually and apply brake.If water gets into the brake drums,brake performance may becomepoor and unpredictable. After drivingthrough water or washing theunderside of the vehicle, test thebrake while driving at slow speed tosee if they have maintained therenormal effectiveness. If the brakesare less effective than normal, drythem by repeatedly applying thebrake while driving slowly until the

brakes have regained their normaleffectiveness.The non-booster type brakingsystem may not be fitted in theStandard model, while the fewmodels are provided with booster-assisted braking system. Thebooster and non-booster versionsprovide similar brakingperformance for the vehicle.However, the amount of braking effortrequired by the driver to activate thebrakes would be lesser in the brake-booster models.ParkingPark the car in a safe place.Apply the parking brake.Ensure that all window glasses areclosed & all lamps are turned ‘OFF’At night, put on the parking lights ifrequired.

WARNINGDo not leave the key inside thecar.Do not leave children unattendedin the car.Avoid parking the car overinflammable materials, such asdry leaves, grass etc., as theexhaust system is hot enough toinitiate ‘FIRE’.

Driving Through Water :

Never venture to drive through waterwhen it flows over the guard stoneson a bridge.

Your car’s engine may get seriouslydamaged if attempted to crossthrough deep water. If at all thesituation demands that you have todrive through water then;

• Keep engine in fast idling andcrawl the car in low gear.

• After driving through water, applybrakes several times to dry theliners and to regain originalbraking.

Do not attempt to start the engine ifcar gets flooded with water.

Tow the car to a safe place.

Take the car to nearest TATAauthorised workshop to check entryof water in cylinders.

If water has entered the engine, ortransaxle, the lubricants will have tobe replaced. Get the starter andalternator checked.

Driving on a Rainy Day :

Check brakes, steering, windows,tyres for wear and tyre pressure.Check wiper blades for properfunctioning. Avoid harsh braking andsharp turns. It may cause loss ofcontrol and lead to a skid. Forslowing down, shift to lower gearsand brake gently. Keep lights ON ifvisibility is poor.

Night Driving :

Dip the head lamp for oncomingtraffic during night driving.Maintain a speed such that you canstop within illuminated distance ofhead lamps.Use head lamp main/dip beam toalert other road users on turns/crossroads etc.

Use side indicators for lanechange or turning.Switch on hazard warning switch incase of hazardous parking or if yourvehicle is disabled to warn thepassing traffic.

Climbing Sharp Gradients onLoose Surfaces :

If the wheels start to slip within fewfeet of the end of the climb, motioncan be maintained by swinging thesteered wheels left and right, therebyproviding increased grip.If the vehicle stalls or lossesheadway while climbing a steep hill,make a quick shift to reverse andallow the vehicle to move back withthe control of engine compression.

Descending Sharp Gradients :

Start off smoothly in any suitablegear. Apply power smoothly so thatthere is no loss of traction by over-revving of the engine.Choose as smooth a slope aspossible and select the appropriategear so that gear changing in themiddle of the climb is not required.Changing gears in the middle of theclimb can cause loss of momentumand engine stalling. Shifting to lowergear has to be done cautiously toavoid loss of traction.Under no conditions should thevehicle be moved diagonally acrossa hill. The danger is in loss of tractionand sideways slippage, possiblyresulting in toppling over. Ifunavoidable, choose as mild anangle as possible and keep thevehicle moving.

Depending on the severity of thegradient, shift into appropriate gear.Use engine braking judiciouslywithout over-revving the engine.Brake application under suchsituations should be done verysmoothly to avoid loss of control.Select appropriate gear so that gearchanging or clutch disengagementis not involved while descending thegradient.

Advance Warning Triangle : Hazard Warning Switch :

An advance warning triangle isprovided along with your vehicle. Incase there is a breakdown and or thevehicle is to be parked at the side ofroad, then the triangle is to be usedas per instructions given below:

1. Remove advance warning trianglefrom it’s cover and assemble.

2. Place the triangle on the roadbehind the vehicle where it isstranded.

3. The triangle must be at least 50meters behind the vehicle in thesame lane of traffic.

4. Increase the distance to 150meters on a highway or if a bad/hill top obscures the view.

Use Hazard Warring lights besidesadvance warning triangle in case ofbreakdown specially during nighttime and vehicle has to be parked atthe side of the road or vehicle is beingoperated in adverse condition.

This can be operated withoutignition 'ON'. Press the hazardwarning switch (red knob) on thefacia (below instrument cluster), allside indicator lights will flashsimultaneously to warn the otherroad users about any hazardouscondition of the vehicle. Depress theknob again to switch 'OFF' the hazardfunction.

CAUTIONIf the turn signal indicators do notblink, then there may be problemin electrical system. If theindicators “Blink rapidly”, then thisindicates that a side indicator bulbhas failed. Get it rectif iedimmediately.

Location and Removal of Sparewheel:

Spare wheel is mounted on frontfirewall inside the Front hood.Open the hood (refer fuel fillingsection) and rotate the wheelmounting screw by hand inanticlockwise direction and removethe spare wheel.

Location of Wheel spanner andTow hook.

They are located behind the rear seaton engine access cover mat.

Advance Warning Triangle:

Advance warning triangle is locatedbehind rear seat back rest belowparcel shelf in a bag. Unlock the rearseat backrest and remove it whenrequired.

Changing the flat tyre

Block the wheel which is diagonallyopposite to the flat tyre.

Take out wheel cover (If fitted) andloosen the wheel mounting bolts offlat tyre. (Do not remove the flat tyreat this stage).

Engage the jack properly at correctjacking point (In between dimplemarks provided at front & rear sides).Rotate the jack screw in clockwisedirection using wheel spanner to liftthe vehicle till flat tyre is free fromground.

Remove wheel-mounting bolts andtake out flat tyre and cover (if fitted).Roll the spare wheel into position andalign the holes in the wheel withtapered bolts and tighten them asmuch as you can by hand.Lower the jack completely thentighten the wheel bolts one by oneusing wheel spanner. Fit the wheelcover back (if fitted).Restore all the tools and jack at it’slocation.Place the flat tyre at spare wheellocation as described and tightenproperly.

• Switch off all unnecessaryelectrical loads.

• Do not lean over the batteryduring jump starting.

• Do not allow the terminals of onelead to touch those of the otherlead.

• Apply the hand brake. Keep thegearshift lever in neutral.

• Do not connect the lead to thenegative terminal of thedischarged battery.

• The connection of the -ve leadpoint should be as far as awayfrom the discharged battery aspossible and close to the startermotor.

• Route the leads so that theycannot get caught by the rotatingparts in the engine compartment.

• The engine of the vehicleproviding the jump start can beallowed to run during starting.

Attempts to start the engine of thevehicle with the discharged batteryshould be made at intervals of oneminute and should not last morethan 15 seconds. After starting, allowboth engines to idle forapproximately 3 minutes with theleads still connected.

Starting the Engine with JumpLeads :

The engine with a discharged batterymay be started by transferringelectrical power from a battery inanother vehicle.

This may be dangerous as anydeviation from the followinginstructions could lead to personalinjury resulting from any batteryexplosion, as well as damage to theelectrical systems in both vehicle.

CAUTIONDo not allow battery electrolyte tocome in contact with eyes, skin,fabrics or painted surfaces. Thefluid contains sulphuric acidwhich can cause injury andsevere damage. Wear rubbergloves, to avoid risk of contact.

To lessen the risk of injury, wear eyeprotection when working near anybattery.

• Make sure that the batteryproviding the jump start has thesame rated voltage as thebattery in your vehicle (12 V). Itscapacity must be approximatelythe same as the original batterycapacity. The rated voltage andcapacity are given on thebatteries.

• Do not disconnect thedischarged battery from thevehicle.

Connect Leads In The Order AsShown In Sketch.

Following order should befollowed while connecting batteryleads :

1. Positive (+) of Good battery toPositive (+) of dischargedbattery.

2. Negative (-) of Good battery to -a solid metal patch attached toengine block OR unpaintedmetal (Engine) part which isaway from the dischargedbattery.

3. Crank and start the engine.

4. While disconnecting followreverse order i.e. disconnectNegative (-) lead followed byPositive (+) lead.

Towing the Vehicle :

• For towing a vehicle, the bestway is to use a wrecker.

• Alternatively use a rigid tow bar.

• Avoid using a flexible cable orrope as your vehicle may crashinto the vehicle towing your carwhen it stops suddenly.

• Switch ‘ON’ the hazard warningsignals of both the vehicle towarn other road users.

• Where possible, keep the engineidling so that brake vacuum isavailable.

• Limit the speed to 20-30 kmph.

• In case of brake failure, use theparking brake to control thevehicle.

Securing the towing hook:

At Front :

• Provision for fitment of towinghook is provided on front bumperas indicated.

Towing Hook fitment :

• Take the towing hook and thewheel spanner from the vehicletool kit

• Screw in the towing hookclockwise to the stop.

• Insert the wheel spanner into thetowing hook and tighten.

Removing the towing hook :

• Take the wheel spanner from thevehicle tool kit

• Insert the wheel spanner into thetowing hook and turn thespanner anticlockwise.

• Unscrew the towing hook.

• Replace the cover and let it lock

into place.

• Place the towing hook and wheelspanner back in the vehicle toolkit.

Transporting the vehicle :

The towing hooks can be used to pullthe vehicle onto a trailer ortransporter for transportingpurposes.

To secure, only lash the vehicledown by the wheels or tyres. Yourvehicle could otherwise bedamaged,

Fuses and Relays :Your car’s electrical circuits havefuses to protect the wiring from shortcircuits or sustained overload. Theseare located below dash board onright hand side as shown in thesketch.

The circuit is connected throughfuses and relays and the currentrating of each fuse is printed on thefuse box sticker on sunvisor.Checking and replacing fuses:If any electrical unit in your car is notfunctioning, check the fuses first.Please follow the steps below thatwill guide you to check and replacethem -• Turn the ignition key to the

'LOCK' position.

Your Car is subjected to manyexternal influences such as climate,road conditions, industrial pollutionand proximity to the sea. Theseconditions demand regular care ofthe Car body. Dirt, insects, birddroppings, oil, grease, fuel andstone chippings should be removedas soon as possible.

ENGINE OIL LEVEL

ENGINE OIL TOP-UPRemove the oil filler cap and pour oilslowly through the filler hole to bringthe oil level to the upper limit on thedipstick. Be careful not to overfill. Toomuch oil is almost as bad as too littleoil. After refilling, start the engine andallow it to idle for about a minute. Stopthe engine; let the oil settle and checkoil level again.

ENGINE COOLANT LEVELEngine oil level should be checkedwhen engine is cold. Allow at least30 mins. for engine oil to settle beforechecking oil level.1. For checking engine oil level, pull

out the dipstick from the engineoil case, wipe it clean with a clothor a paper napkin.

2. Insert it again to its originalposition.

3. Pull out the dipstick again andobserve the oil level on thedipstick.

4. If the oil level is below the midpoint of min. and max. marks, topup using recommended grade ofoil.

NOTICEOil level should not exceed themax. Mark. Always check the oillevel when the car is on a levelground and the engine in coldcondition.Check the engine oil level if “low oilpressure” warning comes 'ON' whiledriving. Failure to check the oil level

dusty conditions, frequentcleaning and replacement of theair-cleaner element isnecessary.

b) Clogged air-cleaners lead togreater intake resistance andresult in increased fuelconsumption. Using lowpressure compressed air, blowoff dust on the air cleanerelement. If the air cleanerelement appears to be choked,replace it with a new one.

REPAIRING TYRES

Repairing a Tyre :

Mark the tyre position (if originalcolour dot mark is not visible) withrespect to valve stem hole to ensurethat the tyre is refitted in the originallocation on the wheel rim.

Ensure that balancing weights arenot disturbed during removal of tyres.

Check the balance weight prior to theremoval of the tyre. If found loose,mark its location on the rim & refitproperly.

Balance the wheel after everydismantling and assembly of tyre onthe wheel rim if required.

While fitting wheels on the vehicleensure that wheel pins are free fromdust, scratches, dirt, dents, etc.

NOTICEDo not apply any oil on the wheelpins. Wipe off the oil if present.

Special care for tubeless tyres

1. While removing tyre from wheelrim and mounting it back onwheel rim, take precautions notto damage tyre bead. Use tyreremoval and assemblymachines. Damage or cut on tyrebead may cause gradual loss ofair and deflation of tyre.

2. Do not scratch inside of tubelesstyre with metallic or sharp object.Tubeless tyres are coated withimpermeable layer of rubberfrom inside which holds the air

inside the tyre. Removal of thislayer due to scratching maycause gradual loss of air anddeflation.

3. If wheel rim gets damaged inservice, get the wheel rimrepaired/replaced immediately.Running the vehicle withdamaged rim may causedeflation of tyre and subsequentdislodging of tyre from rim.

4. Maintain recommended inflationpressure. Over-inflation, inparticular, may cause punctureor bursting of tyre.

NOTICELife and wear pattern of tyresdepends on various parameterslike tyre pressure, wheelalignment, wheel balancing, tyrerotation, etc. It also largelydepends on vehicle speed, loadcarried, usage, driving habits,road conditions, tyre quality, etc.In case fault is suspected to bedue to poor quality of tyres, thesame may be taken up withconcerned tyre manufacturer.

MAINTENANCE BATTERY

Battery :

Battery is located below driver seat

Check the battery for properelectrolyte level and corrosion on theterminals.

1. Check the battery for electrolytelevel against the marking on thebattery outer case.

2. Check the battery terminals forcorrosion (a white or yellowishpowder). To remove it, cover theterminals with a solution of bakingsoda. It will bubble up and turnbrown.

3. When this stops wash it off withplain water. Dry off the batterywith a cloth or paper towel.

4. Coat the terminal with petroleumjelly to prevent future corrosion.

Use a proper wrench to loosen andremove cables from the terminals.

Always disconnect the negative(-ve) cable first and reconnect itlast.Clean the battery terminals with aterminal cleaning tool or wire brush.

Reconnect and tighten the cables,coat the terminals with petroleumjelly.

Ensure that battery is securelymounted.

If you need to connect the battery toa charger, disconnect both cables toprevent damage to the vehicle’selectrical system.

NOTICEDuring normal operation, thebattery generates gas which isexplosive in nature, a spark oropen flame can cause the batteryto explode causing very seriousinjuries.Keep all sparks & open flamesand smoking materials away fromthe battery.Getting electrolyte in your eyes oron the skin can cause severeburns. 3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONSTo avoid risk of damage and/or fire,observe the following precautions:• To avoid short-circuits, never

insert metallic objects (forinstance: coins or metallic tools)into the unit.

• If you notice that the unit isreleasing smoke or strangesmell, promptly disconnect thesupply and consult the nearestTata service Center.

• Pay attention not to let the unit falldown, and neither beat the devicestrongly. Glass internalcomponents of the unit may bedamaged, making it non-operative.

• If the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)is damaged or broken as a resultof a crash, never touch the liquidcrystal fluid inside it. The liquidcrystal fluid may be harmful toyour health. If that fluid gets incontact with your body or clothes,wash it promptly with water andsoap and seek for medical help.

• Do not place 8 cm (3 inches)compact disks into the CDopening. If you try to place into thedevice an 8cm CD with itsadaptor, it may separate from theCD and damage the unit.

Cleaning of the UnitIf the front panel of this unit is dirt,clean it with a dry cloth or slightlysoaked in water. If the front panel istoo dirty, clean it with a cloth

moistened with neutral soap andthen repeat the prior operation.

CAUTIONDo not use any cleaning spraywith this unit, as that can affect itsmechanical parts. If you clean thefront panel with a rough cloth orusing a volatile liquid, like solventor alcohol, that may scratch thesurface or erase somecharacters.

Important warnings about the useof the Bluetooth deviceYour car Infotainment system has abuilt-in Bluetooth device. Asexplained in this manual, suchdevice will enable a wirelessconnection of you Infotainmentsystem to compatible cell phonesand multimedia devices which alsohave a built-in Bluetooth device.Below are important aspects aboutthe operation of the Bluetoothfunction in your Infotainment system:1. The Infotainment system can

support only one Bluetoothdevice pairing at a time. Forinstance, you cannot use yourInfotainment system to pair twocell phones concurrently toundesirable communication.

2. Your Infotainment system willautomatically reconnect the cellphone or multimedia device youhave paired. If you do not want anautomatic connection of yourInfotainment system, take one ofthe following measures todisable this option:

Radio receptionAlways memorize the desiredstations using the radio memorykeys. This will help you selectdesired station in a faster manner.

AM Reception (Medium Waves)At most conditions, strong AMsignals provide stable sound qualityand with low sign noise. At night,however, the atmosphericconditions may sometimes lead tointerference from other stations.

FM ReceptionFM zone offers best quality soundreception; however, the signalintensity may be subjected to noisecaused by:

• Limited reach of sometransmitters;

• Distortion caused by signalsreflected in local buildings andother obstructions;

• “Shadow zones” wherein thesignal reception is obstructed orrestricted;

CAUTIONDo not insert sharp objects intoand do not obstruct bluetoothmicrophone holes as that cancause damage or malfunctioningof the same leading toundesirable communication.

4. OPERATIONS4.1General operation4.1.1. ON / OFF Key• Long Press Power button

• Mute will automatically getcancelled, when there is a sourcechange or AST or Presetselection or Press of Volume Up/Down buttons.

5. Tuner5.1. AM Reception (Medium Waves)At most conditions, strong AMsignals provide stable sound qualityand with low sign noise. At night,however, the atmospheric conditionsmay sometimes lead to interferencefrom other stations.AM signals are susceptible tointerference caused by theemissions of electronic controlunits. Noise amplitudes varyrandomly at AM frequencies. Changein noise amplitude modulates thesignal and it may get picked up bythe tuner.5.2. FM ReceptionFM zone offers best quality soundreception, however, the signalintensity may be subjected to noisecaused by limited range of sometransmitters and distortion causedby signals reflected in localbuildings and shadow zoneswherein the signal reception isobstructed or restricted.FM signals cannot pass though tallbuildings, hills and get reflectedresulting in poor FM reception.

Phenomenon of multiple reflectionsfrom hills and tall buildings mayresult in no reception or poorreception known as multipath effect.5.3. Tuner operation5.3.1. Frequency Band SelectPress key to access the selectedfrequency bands FM1, FM2 or AM.The radio will display Tuner bandand frequency to show that the radiois in the tuner source.

5.3.2. Auto seekIn tuner mode, you can execute anautomatic seek for the next activeinfotainment radio station broadcastwithin the currently selectedfrequency band.Press and Hold the / key toexecute an upward / downwardfrequency auto seek.During the auto frequency, LCD willdisplay the frequency of each validinfotainment radio.If no valid station found then the seekfunction stop at one round (stop atthe frequency where tuner startseeking. During an auto seekprocess; if user presses any presetbuttons then corresponding stationwill be played.

5.3.3. Manual Frequency TuningWhen the radio is in FM or AM mode,short press the / button tostep up/down the frequency band byone step.LCD display will show currentfrequency.

AM frequency step is 9 kHz and FMfrequency step is100 kHz..

5.3.4. Auto storeWhen radio is in tuner mode, a longpress on will execute the autostore function.When the auto-store starts, the radiowill sweep the frequency band andtry to locate the 6 strongest radiostations and store their frequenciesinto associated FM1/FM2/AMmemory locations 1 - 6. The storesequence is from strongest toweakest (1 to 6).

When auto-store has finished, theradio will switch to the FM1/FM2/AMband at preset location one.If no active radio stations are locatedduring the auto store operation, theradio will recall preset 1 frequency.During auto storage process, if seekbutton is pressed then the ongoingprocess will be stopped and preset1 will be played.During auto storage process, if anypreset button is pressed thencorresponding station will beplayed.

5.3.5. Tuner preset 1 to 6Preset functionality allows storing orselecting a given radio frequencywithin one of the reception ranges(FM1, FM2 and AM).The audio channels are brieflymuted (during the storing period) toacknowledge the preset has beenstored and the display panel

updates with the new presetnumber.

5.3.6. To select the memoriesShort press of a preset button [1] to[6], recalls the radio stationfrequency from memory; the tunerwill change to this recalledfrequency.

Important : Your audio unit may bedamaged if improper objects areinserted into it, like credit cards orcoins, through the CD opening.

6.1.2 Precautions regardingoperation• If your car has been parked under

the hot sun, let the unit cool downbefore activating it.

• Be careful not to let juice or softdrinks drip on the unit or on thedisks.

6.1.3 Wetness CondensationIn a rainy day or in a very humidregion, humidity may be condensedinside the laser reading lenses andon the unit display. If it happens, theunit will not work properly. In thiscase, remove the disk and waitabout one hour until the humidity hasevaporated.

6.1.4 CD Handling• Do not touch the CD recorded

surface.

To Store a station

Press & hold preset button [1] to [6],overwrites the frequency previouslystored in that memory location withthe current frequency.

6. CD Playback6.1. CD Care and maintenance6.1.1. CD Opening cleaningAs dust tends to accumulate at theCD opening, clean it up periodically.Remember that your compact disks(CD) may be scratched if placed atthe CD opening with accumulateddust.

• Do not place them exposed todirect sun light (over the seat orcontrol panel, etc.) or under hightemperature.

• Keep the CDs on their boxes orin any other that protects themfrom being scratched.

• Do not place adhesives or othersuch materials on the CD. Also,do not use a CD with anadhesive.

• Due to their manufacturingprocess, CD-R and CD-RW aremore susceptible of beingdamaged than a commonmusical CD (Compact Disk).Use a CD-R or CD-RW afterreading the precaution items inthe CD labeling. When using anew CD If the CD central hole orthe external margin presentsburrs, use it after removing theburrs with a pen.

6.1.6 CD CleaningClean CDs using a soft and dry cloth.Movements shall always be madefrom the center to the edge of thedisk and in a soft way.

6.1.5 CD Accessories• Do not use disk accessories

• Do not stick labels nor use diskswith sticky paints / residues.Disks may stop turning whenused, causing defects or theymay be damaged.

6.1.7 CDs removal When removing the CDs from thisunit, store them at the horizontalposition.

6.1.8 CDs that cannot be used• CDs which are not round

shaped cannot be used.

• CDs painted in the recordingsurface, or those which are dirtcannot be used.

Music disks encoded with copyrightsprotectionThis product has been designed toreproduce disks that comply with theCompact Disk (CD) standard.Recently, some labels havecommercialized several encodedmusic disks with copyrightsprotection.

It should be noted that, among thosedisks there are some which do notcomply with the CD standard, and itmight not be possible to reproducethem in this audio unit.

Important : Some CD-Rs / CD-RWs(depending on the equipment usedfor recording or the disk condition)might not be played in this unit.

6.2. CD Operation6.2.1. LOADThe infotainment will display"LOAD" while the CD mechanism isloading.

6.2.2. EJECT

Press the Eject key to eject theCD from the radio.

The radio will display “EJECT”during the ejecting, the timeout is2s. If the ejected disc is not removedin 12s, it will be reloaded again andthe radio shall play the last activetuner source (FM1/FM2/AM).

6.2.3. READING :After a CD is inserted into the slot,the CD-mechanism will initiateplaying the CD, the radio will display“READ” to indicate that the radio isstart to read the disc. (Before the

radio start to read the disc, radio willstill play previous source such astuner, USB, AUX). If the disc isplayable, the radio will start to playthe disc and display trackinformation (track number and trackplay time).

6.2.4.3. CD ErrorIf there is a CD ERROR encounteredduring the initiating phase or the disccannot be read, the Infotainmentsystem will display “ERROR” for 2sand the error CD will be ejected out.The Infotainment system will go tolast active tuner source (FM1/FM2/AM). For any disc other than CD-DA/CD-R/CD-RW, ERROR messagewill be displayed and CD will beejected.

If CD is inserted upside down thenERROR will be displayed for 2s andCD will be ejected out.

6.2.5 Track InformationWhile the CD-player is playing anMP3/WMA track, the user can viewthe MP3/WMA track information via(INFO) button press, the defaultdisplay content is Track number andplaying time.CD insertion during active call.If a CD is inserted during a call, theCD mechanism will load it and thecall will proceed normally.Important : Once call is concluded,the Infotainment will return to thesource you used last, and not to CDsource.6.2.6. MP3 / WMA FILE FORMATS6.2.6.1. Notes on the MP3 / WMAreproductionMP3 / WMA files which can bereproduced (hereinafter referred toas audio files) and the media formathave the following limitations: audiofile out of specification might not be

Compatibility of USB devices:As there is no standardization forsuch format and this kind oftechnology is constantly evolving, themanufacturers of USB devices canadopt different profiles for theirdevices. Therefore, anincompatibility can occur betweenyour radio and the USB device. Toavoid this problem, use only deviceswith the recommendedcharacteristics.

7.1.2.1. Connecting the USB device:USB should contain MP3 / WMAformat audio songs. If the audioFiles are not available Radio willshow the EMPTY. Performance willbe guaranteed

7 USB Playback7.1 USB Operation7.1.1 Connecting a USB deviceInsert a USB device in the USB slotlocated on the Trimplate or press[SRC] button to turn Infotainment toUSB play mode.

CAUTIONThe Infotainment will change tothe USB mode automatically bysimply connecting a device to theUSB input. USB insertion force isless than 35N. Connecting theUSB devices while chargingthrough USB port should not beconnected into the Audio Systems.

USB device should be inserted intothe USB slot in the verticalorientation. Wrong orientation willdamage the USB device or the portin the audio unit.

When the infotainment start to readthe USB device, the infotainment willdisplay “READING”, infotainmentwill change to USB source and the“USB” icon will be displayed.

During the USB play, if there is aphone incoming/outgoing, the radiowill change to BT mode.

9. Bluetooth9.1. Bluetooth Operation9.1.1. What is Bluetooth wirelesstechnology?Bluetooth® wireless technology isa radio technology that connectsdevices, such as mobile phonesand headsets, without wires or

playback control functions such asplay/pause, volume up/down andnext/previous track in a Bluetoothconnected audio player.

9.1.3. What is pairing?Bluetooth devices will not work if thedevices have not been paired. Witha mobile phone featuringBluetooth® technology, you must‘pair’ the car Infotainment systemwith the phone before you use it forthe first time. ‘Pairing’ creates aunique wireless link between thephone with Bluetooth® wirelesstechnology and your carInfotainment system eliminating theneed to repeat the pairing processfor future use. Pairing process isexplained in section 9.1.6 of thismanual.

9.1.4. What is PIN?PIN is a code that you enter on yourmobile phone to pair it with theBluetooth car Infotainment system.This makes your phone and theBluetooth receiver units recognizeeach other and automatically worktogether. The Bluetooth wirelessfunction on your phone has to beturned on to establish automaticconnection.

Important : User can establish thephone pairing with default password“1234”.

9.1.5. BT CompatibilitySince there is no mutual agreement,the cell phone manufacturers arequalified to use a variety of profiles

in their Bluetooth devices. Therefore,an incompatibility may occurbetween the telephone system andthe hands free, which in somecases may significantly prejudicethe system performance. In order toavoid such situation, only therecommended telephones shouldbe used. Please contact your dealerfor more information about theupdated list of interoperability.

CAUTIONSee the manual of your cell phoneto make its coupling with the radio.

9.1.6 Pairing with a mobile phone

• Short Press the Acceptbutton to go into the BluetoothMode.

• Activate Bluetooth® on yourmobile phone. Please checkyour mobile phone owner’smanual for further details.

• Search for new Bluetooth®device on the mobile phone. Thisunit’s name is “TATA NANO”.

• When attempting to connect tothe unit, the mobile phone willprompt for a passkey/ pass code/PIN. User is required enter thePIN: “1234”. This is default PINfor the Infotainment system.

• When the Infotainment is in BTmode, the “BT” icon will bedisplayed. Any incoming call willbe automatically diverted to theunit.

• The Bluetooth icon “BT” willindicate that the Infotainment is

CAUTIONIn any source mode, the user canprocess a BT phone connectionfrom the BT phone, if theconnection has succeeded, theBT phone will be paired andconnected. But the Infotainmentwill still be in current source mode(tuner, CD, USB, AUX).

CAUTIONYour Infotainment system cansupport only one Bluetooth devicepairing at a time. You cannot useyour Infotainment system to pairtwo cell phones concurrently.

No connectivity :• If the system cannot fetch the

name of the BT phone, “BTPHONE” will be displayed

• If the paired phone is not invicinity or not connected to theInfotainment system, the systemwill display “NO PHONE”.

CAUTIONOnce in the Bluetooth mode, theuser can only use the Volume Up/Down, Cal Accept/ Call Reject, &Next Track/ Previous track buttons.

The user is required to come out ofthe Bluetooth mode to access theother Trimplate buttons.

9.2. Hands Free calling :9.2.1. Incoming Calling :• During power ON, if a call is in

progress, the Infotainmentsystem will enter into the BT HFPMode automatically. The HFPmode is entered/ exited bymeans Short Press the [ ] Acceptbutton.

• When an incoming call arrives,the Infotainment system ismuted automatically and ringtone is reproduced through yourcar’s speaker.

• The unit temporarily switch totelephone mode and incomingcall no. will appear on the display.

NOTICE• The unit will be automatically set

as default speaker output everytime when there is an incomingcall.

• Caller ID is telephone numberof the incoming call.

• Only first 8 digits of the numberwill be displayed.

call directly from the unit by ShortPress of the ACCEPTbutton.

• Alternatively, you may alsoanswer the call by using yourphone’s answer keypad.

• If there is a phone call inprogress, a long press of ACCEPT button will make theInfotainment system enter intoPrivate BT mode. Infotainmentwill display “PRIVATE” during theBT phone private mode.

• Microphone mute mode: Whenthe Infotainment system is in BTmode and if there is a call inprocess, short press the Power button will make theInfotainment enter microphonemute mode.

• Infotainment will display “MICMUTE” during the microphonemute period, but the “MUTE” iconwill not be displayed / flashed.

• Short press the Powerbutton again will abort the BTMicrophone mute mode andrevert back to normal BT mode.

9.2.3 Rejecting a call• This function allows you to reject

an incoming call via theInfotainment system.

• Short press of REJECTbutton will make the Infotainment

9.2.4 Ending a call• This function allows you to end a

call conversation via theInfotainment system.

• Short press of REJECTbutton will make the Infotainmentend the incoming call and revertback to previous source mode(tuner, CD, USB, AUX).

• Alternatively, you may also endthe call by using your phone’skeypad.

9.2.5 Making a call• A phone call dial out from the

active BT phone can also makethe Infotainment access BTmode, the “BT” icon indicatesthat Infotainment is in BT mode.

CAUTION• Infotainment will display “OUT

CALL” during the phone callprocess period.

• Your Infotainment System willnot support Redial function.

9.2.6 Auto Connectivity• The infotainment will check the

BT connection situation betweenthe radio and the bonded BTphone.

• If the BT connection between theradio and BT phone is lost (for

example, BT phone is moved outof the BT capable range, signalweakness, user power off the BTphone etc.), radio will try toreconnect the BT phone. Whenthe BT connection is available,radio will set up the BTconnection automatically.

• The infotainment will only becapable to support one BT phoneconnection. If there already havean active phone (bonded andconnection before), theconnection/pairing request fromanother BT phone will fail. If anew phone has to be paired withinfotainment, previous bondedphone should be deleted frominfotainment by long pressingthe reject button. BT de-pairingis given in Section 9.5 of thismanual.

9.3. Audio Streaming Profile (A2DP)When radio is in BT mode, the usercan also activate A2DP function,which means the audio output fromthe BT phone, can be transferred tothe radio and output from thespeakers.The A2DP request from the BTphone will not make the radioautomatically change to BT mode.9.3.1. BT Audio ModeWhen Infotainment is playing anysource (tuner or CD or AUX) a shortpress of ACCEPT button willmake the Infotainment enter in to BTAudio Mode. Short press of REJECT button causes the system

to return to the previous activesource. During A2DP modefollowing button presses will beconsidered as valid: Next Track/Previous track, Mute/Unmute,Volume up/down, Call Accept & CallReject. Rest of the button presseswill be ignored by the system.The user is required to come out ofthe BT mode by the short press of

REJECT button to access theSRC button.9.4. Exiting BT ModeUser can abort the BT mode andmake the radio revert back toprevious mode (tuner, CD, USB,AUX) via a short press of REJECT button.9.5. BT De-Pairing• When in BT mode, short press

of REJECT button to comeout of the BT mode to the lastselected mode (tuner, CD, USB,AUX).

• A long press on the REJECTbutton will de-pair the existingphone. For successful deletion,the display will show“DELETED”

• Once the BT phone is deleted, ifthe same phone has to be pairedagain, then the connect requestshould be initiated from phone.

NOTICEBT delete is possible only whenInfotainment system is not in BTmode. If the current mode is BT,then the user has to come out ofBT short press of REJECTbutton and then try to disconnectthe BT phone by long press on theREJECT button.

9.6. Remot Control Profile (AVRCP)Radio supports limited functionalityin remote control profile. Paired BTphone can be used as a remotecontrol to access the audio controlsin Audio Streaming mode. BT phonecan issue mute, un-mute, previoustrack, next track, play and pausecommand. Radio will receive thoseand process the action accordingly.Meta data processing will not besupported.10.
