Polyethylene UnitsEach unit has four mounting ports based on a traditional400mm stud spacing.Two additional ports are provided for optional use. Allfixings are supplied with each unit to cater for fixing toeither solid masonry or studded wall constructions.

Fixing to masonrySecure the unit to brick and concrete blocksubstrates using four 10 gauge x min.75 mm woodscrews into proprietary wall plugs.The flat fender washer is to be inserted underneaththe finishing washer. Finally, insert the snap-fitplastic covers in each fixing port to cover the fixings.

Alternative fixing methodThe BC 100-EH/BC 100-EV unit can be fitted with theEZ Mount backer plate to provide an alternative methodof fixing to studded walls.Two galvanised steel mounting bars are supplied, onepre-fixed to the rear of the unit and the other loose forfixing to the wall. The wall bar has a multitude of fixingholes to cater for variable stud positions.

Steel Units

Each stainless steel unit caneither be surface-mounted orrecessed.A matching stainless steel coverframe is available for surface-mounted installations.

Recommended mounting height to base of unit:Standard – 900mmWheelchair – 790mm

• In all mountings, the flat fender washer must beinserted underneath the finishing washer: installing theunit using only the finishing washer may result in thewasher biting directly into the body of the unit withconsequent damage and loss of stability.

• Nappy changing units are no stronger than the anchorsor substrates to which they are attached and as suchmust be firmly secured in order to support the loads forwhich they are intended.

Recessed fixing in masonry

Each unit has six recess mountingholes.Form the opening in the brick orblockwork wall, incorporating anappropriate lintel to span theopening. Install rough timber fixinggrounds and screw fix the changingunit to the reveals of the openingusing minimum10 gauge screws.Before final tightening, insertpacking shims as necessary foralignment and to obviate anydistortion on tightening. Use eitherflat head screws with finishingwashers and flat washers or panhead wood screws with flatwashers, making sure thatconsideration is given to theoperating clearance and that theback flange of the unit neatly masksthe opening and the termination ofthe wall finish.

Recessed fixing in studwork

Timber double stud blocking isnecessary around the opening.After locating the unit within theframed opening, insert packingshims as necessary for alignmentand snug fitting.Secure the unit to the blocking usingminimum 10 gauge flat head woodscrews with finishing washers andflat washers or pan head woodscrews with flat washers, makingsure, as with all fixing methods, thatconsideration is given to theoperating clearance.

Surface mounting

The unit can be fixed directlythrough the back plate using screwsand appropriate wall plugs andplastic caps to cover the screwheads.A matching stainless steel coverframe is available for surface-mounted installations whichengages the changing unit with asnap fit. The cover frame covers theotherwise exposed edges andprovides a neat finishing surround.
