The standardsConstruction of the switchgears asper IEC 62271-200 / VDE 0671 part200. Tested for resistance to inter-nal arc faults IAC AFLR as per IEC62271-200 / VDE 0671 part 200and IEC 60298 App. AA, criteria 1–6, earthquake testing in accor-dance with UBC 1997, zone 4.

Busbar compartmentThe busbars are made of standardflat copper with rounded edges.The main busbars are screwedtogether panel-for-panel and aresegregated by cast-resin bushingspanel-for-panel. The electricstrength of the main busbar is guaranteed without additional insulation.

Circuit breaker compartmentThe withdrawable units can beequipped with a diverse amount ofcustomer specific switching devi-ces (vacuum, SF6). The operationof the withdrawble unit can only bedone behind closed doors. Mecha-nical interlocks prevent malopera-tion. When removing the withdraw-able unit, all live parts are automa-tically protected by metal shutters.

Cable terminal compartmentThe generously sized cable terminalcompartment is easily accessiblethrough its explosion proof frontdoor. The panel’s entire depth canbe used for the installation of instru-ment transformers, earthing swit-

ches, surge arresters and cablelooms for single-core cables up to 5 x 500 mm2 (NES) or 7 x 500 mm2

(NES-H).

Low voltage compartmentThe low voltage compartment pro-vides adequate space for all thenecessary secondary technicalcomponents and can be delivered

with the following heights: 600 mm,700 mm, 800mm. The withdra-wable unit’s position switch, forexample, is installed here for easyaccessibility. This means that onecan access it without coming incontact with the high voltage secti-ons. The distortion resistant door isadequate for the protective relays,measuring instruments, controllersand signalling units.

Pressure reliefPressure is generally releasedupward in our switchgear panelsand not in the cable basement. Werecommend that you use a pres-sure release duct for the targetedrelease in the switchgear buildingbecause of its utmost personalsafety. The hot gases that resultfrom arc faults can be conductedout of the switchgear buildingthrough the duct.

Depending on the type of switch-gear panel, you can alternatively use an arc absorber or a deflectorplate to release the pressure.
