1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Navigate Career Waters: Finding A Non-STEM Job In A STEM World 210 University Center | Dr. Annie Jones

The emerging emphasis on science and engineering (STEM) is valid, but there remains a need for liberal arts thinkers in many fields. Explore the relationship between college majors and occupations and, most importantly, where college graduates find jobs. Using data from the 2014 census, we will create a visualization of college majors and employment patterns by sex, race, and Hispanic origin.

One of the most important and intimidating steps in the job and internship search process is writing a solid resume. Resumes not only have to appeal to potential employers, but they also have to be optimized for online applicant tracking systems. Attend this workshop for tips on how to market yourself with a masterpiece resume.
