It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I invite you to the 24th Annual Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic.

The set of horses, bulls, bred heifers, fancy open heifers, steers, commercial bred and open heifers; plus flush opportunities, embryo packages, semen packages and the set of commercial exhibitors coming to the Classic is second to none ever featured at the event!

As we have all said, “It is an exciting time to be in the cattle business.” With record high cattle prices, record low cow numbers and good retail demand for high quality beef worldwide, things could not look better for cattlemen.

The QUALITY of the entries this year is tremendous. I know every year we talk about the quality, but this year, the Classic consignors have truly committed to bring their best to the Classic. The Classic is the event in Nebraska that we can all come together to see our cattlemen’s “best seedstock”.

The Classic continues to add more opportunities and rewards for youth with their purchases at the Classic. These programs are very rewarding. It is my honor to get to know these youth that will be the future leaders in the Beef Industry. I encourage all parents and grandparents to take a look at the heifers and steers featured at the Classic. If you buy a steer or heifer and participate in the programs the Classic has in place, you are helping your future cattlemen have the opportunity to be a part of feedlot tours, network with other youth, be a part of scholarship interviews and

the best part is get a lot of free prizes and have the opportunity to win cash scholarships.

The Classic has grown into an event for the entire family. I encourage you to take a look at all the sale features. Make plans to come spend a day or two at the Classic to take in the sales, enjoy the commercial trade show, have some great food at any of the concession stands at the event and enjoy the fellowship with other cattlemen. Remember the Classic is the event for cattlemen!

It seems the unanimous feeling from everyone is we just don’t have enough TIME to get everything done or go everywhere we want to go. I ask you to take the time this year, and come to Kearney for the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call me anytime.

LOT INDEXRanch Horse

‘Rowdy’ is a 15 hand medium built ranch horse. This gelding is handy and has good looks. He has had a lot of outside experience moving cattle from the hill country and from cornstalks. He has been started in the roping arena on the heading side. Good speed and is strong at the horn. Very nice using horse that will make a great addition to any ranching program. Look for videos on YouTube: search 7M Horse Co/Rowdy. Represented by Shane McClure.

Talk about a gentle giant. He will work a cow, rope both ends of the arena and ride pens in the feedlot. He gets along great with other horses. You can pony anything off of him. From ranch rodeos to 4-H shows ‘Banana’ has done it all. This horse is registered and has a great pedigree. We have just not transferred him. He is Watch Joe Star Buck, Two Eyed Harlan and Dustin Watch Joe on the top. With Red Baron Skipster, Mia Red Baron, and Boes Teaka on the bottom. He’s got background! Represented by Clarissa Hunt

This is the mightiest little horse you’ll ever meet. He is a ‘rock’ solid heel horse, good head horse and makes a pretty sweet tie down calf roping horse too. He’s been shown in Reined Cow Horse and has placed at the Paint World in his events listed. You’ll love him in the pasture, pairing out or doctoring. He’s the favorite horse of all the little kids around our barn. He packs them safely through Christmas Parades or play days! With just a little asking he’s a competitive youth horse in poles and barrels----but will not get hot with them. We cannot say enough about this little gelding. He’s been with us for years, never let us down, and is honest and gritty, no matter what he’s asked to do, or who is riding him. Owned by Mickey Beagle of Arkansas. ‘Spoon’ is a gentle minded easy going saddle horse that requires no maintenance riding. He is broke enough to be ridden slowly but has enough juice to get up and go when he needs to. He has been healed off of, used to start colts, used in ranch rodeos, as well as used for general ranch work. Spoon is a ‘been there done that’ kind of horse who is athletic, cowy, and ready to work. www.you tube.com/watch?v=2uhkaTkm8fo Represented by Seth Adam

Ty is easy to handle, athletic and has a very good mind. Both sides of his pedigree are using horses, they have been used on ranches, feedyards, rodeos & show arenas. PROTECT YOUR HERD’S PERFORMANCEResearch shows internal parasites can cost a producer over $190 per head over the lifetime of each animal in lost performance1.

Safe-Guard goes straight to the gut to kill internal parasites where they live.

ADD SAFE-GUARD – ADD POUNDS

Choose Safe-Guard Because:

Internal parasites threaten performance -Reduce average daily gain (ADG) -Reduce feed intake -Can impair the immune system of cattle

Safe-Guard features broad-spectrum activity against internal parasites

Cooperia is now confirmed as the most prevalent internal parasite in U.S. cattle herds (NAHMS 2009, 2010)

Internal parasite (Cooperia) resistance to macrocyclic lactone compounds (endectocides) was confirmed in 2004 and continues to grow2

In a peer-reviewed published study, calves infected with macrocyclic lactone-resistant Cooperia had 7.4% less average daily gain and 5.4% less feed intake3

Safe-Guard eliminates these resistant parasites3 (98.1% effective)

PROPER PARASITE MANAGEMENT IS THE CORNERSTONE OF YOUR ANIMAL HEALTH PROGRAM
