Sketcher New and Enhanced Functionality

OutputYou can now create a plane from a selected line of the sketcher or a 3D line from a

selected point of the sketcher.

Converting Standard into Construction

Elements

You can now define whether the current

element in edition is to be treated as a

construction element or a standard one.

Creating Curvilinear Distance Constraints

You can now create a curvilinear distance

constraint like any other dimensional constraint

of a sketch.

Creating Equidistant Points

You can now create an equivalent dimension for all the

rounds/equidistance values instead of creating many individually

modifiable formulae. With this, you can modify multiple distance

values by modifying only one of the parameters.

Sketcher New and Enhanced Functionality

Sketcher

You can now have a new setting using which you can choose the minimize

transformation mode when entering the Sketcher workbench. With this,

the viewpoint transformation brings the sketch plane parallel to screen, as

close as possible to the initial viewpoint in 3D.

About Smartpicking Background Elements

You can now directly use the background elements like existing geometry of a

sketch to position the future geometry to create. This way you can now manage the

selection of background entities to define their inputs.

Sketcher New and Enhanced Functionality

Sketcher V5-6R2014 (R24)

Aligning Points

You can now align a number of points

horizontally, vertically or along a

direction.

About Dragging Using SmartPick

You can now drag the geometries using SmartPick and position them with respect to

each other or with the other background elements.

Instantiating Fix Together Items

You can now instantiate a Fix Together item from an existing Fix Together item.

Creating Chamfers

You can now enter the length value as the first input in

Sketch tools when Hypothenuse and Angle or First Length

and Angle options are selected while creating a chamfer.

from three to 100 in R25 & R26 only.

V5-6R2017 (R27) ONLY Creating Polygons

Machining New and Enhanced Functionality

Machining V5-6R2012 (R22)

There are no new or enhanced functionalities in this release for all machining workbenches.

Machining V5-6R2013 (R23)

Add PP Word in Machining Patterns and Axial Operations

You can insert and display PP Word instructions before any hole in the Machining Pattern and Axial Machining

Operations.

Improved Collision Check and Collision Avoidance

Ability to include the Part from Part Operation in the collision check performed on macro for the following

Machining Operations: Profile Contouring, Groove Milling, Pocketing, Facing, Curve Following, 4x Pocketing

and Trochoid Milling Machining Operations. The Part from Part Operation check box is added in the Collision

Checking dialog box and the Collision Checking button is added where needed in the Geometry tab.

Improved Intermediate Stock Management in Axial Machining Operations

__A Drill through stock up to bottom check box is added in the Geometry tab. This helps to perform the axial

operation start from top of the stock up to bottom of the stock in case of Through hole .

__A Spot drill to part check box is added in the Geometry tab of the Spot Drilling Machining Operation. It

allows the drilling from the intermediate stock up to the part (and ensures the spot-drilling depth/diameter on

the part).

Lathe Machining New Functionalities

Start Limit in Rough Turning

There are no new or enhanced functionalities in this release for all machining workbenches.

Machining V5-6R2015 (R25)

3-Axis Surface Machining Enhanced Functionality

Roughing, Spiral Milling

The Concentric tool path style has been enhanced to reduce the machining time:

For external domains, the number of small passes in concave areas has been reduced.

For closed pockets that are large enough and convex, the tool path is optimized by mixing concentric and offset

motions (both respecting the radial engagement). The result is a shorter machining time.

For softer material like aluminium, you can take advantage of the concentric tool path style and drastically reduce

air cut motions using the zig-zag mode.

Roughing

__A new parameter (Overhang) imposes a radial engagement of the tool on the soft boundary trajectory, thus

controlling the load on the tool. For new programs, this option is activated by default, for existing programs,

the behavior is unchanged.

__A new parameter (Upward rework step) optimizes the Roughing machining time: The downward roughing

planes are computed with large steps, then the remaining material on the wall is removed with upward smaller

axial steps.
