Also suitable for the fine fractions from 0 to 10 mm, and especially for sticky or damp product flows such as: • Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) • Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) • Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR)

New conveyor feed boosts yield of non-ferrous metals

Conveyor belt 1 - Product distributorTransports the material until it reaches the product distributor or 'churner' that spreads out the product until it forms a mono-layer that completely covers the belt.

Results in consistent volume and continuous flow to the next processing step.

Conveyor belt 2 - Magnetic head pulley separatorIs flat and transports the material towards the magnetic head pulley at the end of the conveyor belt. Available in four strengths:• 1800 gauss: for pieces of steel and iron from 1 to 100 mm• 3000 gauss: for pieces of steel and iron from 0.5 to 100 mm• 6000 gauss: for pieces of steel, iron and stainless steel

from 0.5 to 100 mm• 9000 gauss: for pieces of steel, iron and stainless steel

from 0.1 to 30 mm

An integrated magnetic head pulley considerably improves the eddy current separation and results in a higher ferrous metal yield.

Conveyor belt 3 - Eddy current separatorReceives an optimum material flow: a mono-layer, perfectly spread across the entire width of the belt and free from fluctuations in density. The ferrous metals have already been removed and therefore do not interfere with the eddy current separation step.

The material is perfectly prepared and ready for the powerful 38HI Eddy current rotor, with 3500 gauss at the belt. A high magnetic force is necessary for the 'heavy' non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, gold, silver and other valuable metals.

The newly developed conveyor feed prevents clogging of the vibratory feeder and boosts the non-ferrous metal yield. Its use prevents avoidable downtime and extra maintenance. The conveyor feed has a product distributor that produces a mono-layer with full belt coverage. This means maximum utilization of the capacity of the non-ferrous separator as well as longer service intervals for the conveyor belt.

Also suitable for the fine fractions from 0 to 10 mm, and especially for sticky or damp product flows such as: • Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA)• Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF)• Automotive Shredder Residue (ASR)

Flux density vs distance of shell

High concentrations of valuable metals are found in the 'fines' fraction, in the size range from 0 to 10 mm. A distinction is made between 'light non-ferrous' (LNF) and 'heavy non-ferrous' (HNF) metals.

LNF is easily separable yet has a lower sale value. HNF, such as copper and brass, on the other hand, is considerably more valuable yet more difficult to separate. A high magnetic force is necessary to overcome gravity. The Goudsmit 38HI magnet rotor has a special magnet construction and the largest diameter in the market. This results in extremely high magnetic force at the shell or conveyor belt and therefore small pieces of copper and brass can be more easily separated.
