Trade fair, tech talks and confer-ences: With Hypermotion, Messe Frankfurt offers an innovative mix of events for the mobility and logistics sectors. The focus here is on intelligent systems and solutions for mobility, transport, logistics and digital infrastructure. The partici-pants include major corporations, small/medium-sized enterprises and startups as well as representatives from industry associations and the worlds of science and politics.
Experience disruptive technologies and digital swarm intelligence: Solutions for Mobility 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 are presented, dis-cussed and developed jointly at Hypermotion. Hypermotion is more than just a trade fair – it also provides a platform for important future issues and is a major inno-vation driver for the mobility of tomorrow with its high-calibre con -ferences, idea pitches for startups and “Hackathon”.

Monitoring & Transparency
• How can complete trans-parency be created across all logistics and mobility processes?
• How can logistics and mobility processes be viewed in an integrated manner and pro-actively managed?
• How can data be made available centrally for the benefit of all process participants?
Hypermotion provides answers in seven networked areas
The future starts with questions
Synchronised & Urban Logistics
• How should a synchronous and customer-driven value creation chain be designed?
• Which concepts enable cost-efficient and flexible last-mile delivery?
• How can products be trans-formed into product service systems that are traceable over their entire life cycle?
Data Analytics & Security
• How can logistics and mobility processes be continuously optimised through data analysis?
• How can the needs of the end customer in logistics and mobility processes be better understood and anticipated through data analysis?
• How can financial transac-tions in logistics and mobility systems be made secure?
Hypermodality
• How can personalised logis-tics and mobility chains be created that are individually adapted to the end customer?
• How are logistics and mobility processes changing as a result of digitalisation and decarbonisation, and what are the resulting opportunities for all participants?
• How must logistics and mobility systems be rede-signed through digitalisation as a result of intermodal systems?
Smart & Digital Regions
• How must cities and regions be reorganised in the context of the digitisation of logistics and mobility?
• How can the use of space in smart regions and cities be made more flexible?
• How can the “citizen experi-ence” be improved through digital transformation?
Sustainability
• How can emissions in logis-tics and mobility processes be better measured and avoided?
• What concepts exist to promote the social sustain-ability of logistics and mobility?
• How can external costs be better anticipated?
5
Connectivity
• How can status data for buildings, infrastructure and vehicles be created and transferred?
• How can participants in transport and logistics systems communicate more effectively with each other?
• What innovations exist for networking logistics and mobility?

2017: successful debut. 2018: sharper profile.
Premiere with perspective
At Hypermotion, a new generation of mobility and logistics specialists meet estab-lished companies as well as industry associations and politicians. Over three days, a dynamic combination of trade fair and conferences invites participants to network and share knowledge. The concept has been very positively received by industry experts, exhibitors and visitors and is being systematically enhanced in 2018 with new partners, topics and conferences.
“Hypermotion has a great concept. It’s based on the idea that I don’t choose a particular means of transport, but rather that I decide on the basis of my situation and route which means of transport is the right one for my journey, and that I might even combine several forms.”
Professor Florian Matthes,
Technical University of Munich, Department of Informatics
“The European Space Agency is very active in several areas that are also relevant at Hypermotion – for instance, satellite navigation, which you certainly need if you want to have digital logistics or digital mobility.”
Professor Johann-Dietrich Wörner,
Director-General of the European Space Agency (ESA)
“What I find very exciting is the combina-tion of logistics and mobility. I have the impression that it is useful when compa-nies that have been working for a long time in this field have close contacts with retailers and logistics service providers as well as startups, research bodies, scientific institutions, politicians and administrators.”
Professor Uwe Clausen,
Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material
Flow and Logistics IML
“The Hypermotion start-up pitches by mobility and logistics companies are a great reflection of the dynamic energy that currently exists in these industries. Everything is here – from LiDAR sensors for autonomous driving to tracking solutions for the supply chain.”

s=mc2 stands for the Smart Mobility Conference + Communication and focuses on the theme of sustainable urban mobility. Its aim is the development and realisation of green city masterplans with 60 German towns and cities. During Hypermotion, cities and munici-palities will demonstrate their creden-tials as drivers of the transport revolution and document the development and progress of their projects.
Sustainable mobility in urban centres is also promoted by the NUMBR1 Award, which is pre-sented by the public transport magazine Nahverkehrspraxis powered by Hypermotion. The award celebrates intelligent concepts for the future of public transport. The main assessment criteria include benefit for the general public, concept and strategy, transferability and pros-pect of success.
Another Hypermotion participant is the German Air Transport Industry Association (BDL), which will focus on aviation as an indis-pensable link in global logistics chains. At the Digital Regions Conference, the atene KOM con-sultancy will explore the subject of digital networking in Germany. atene KOM offers services in the areas of regional development, digital infrastructure development, mobility, energy and education.
EXCHAiNGE – The Supply Chainers’ Community 2018
EXCHAiNGE, the renowned inter-national event for supply chain management, finance, logistics and purchasing, is coming to Hypermotion. In 2018, the 6th meeting of supply chain experts and operations managers is taking place for the first time under the umbrella of Hypermotion in Frankfurt. The focus will be on Management 4.0 themes relating to New Work and Digital Business. Digitalisation is creating the basis for new and disruptive business models and services. Supply chain managers need to act as initiators and drivers of innovation processes. This entails a cultural shift that
cannot be brought about by continuing along the same old comfortable lines: it requires drastic changes in the organisation. But what does such a culture look like, i.e. one that is able to hold its own as processes become increas-ingly complex and the future looks uncertain? EXCHAiNGE participants address these and other challenges in a series of sessions, supply chain simulations and panel discussions. One of the highlights at EXCHAiNGE is the presentation of the Supply Chain Management Award. This coveted award, which is presented on the second evening by Strategy&, the strategy consultancy
of PwC, and the trade magazine LOGISTIK HEUTE, celebrates outstanding SCM concepts. These are concepts that are developed and implemented in manufacturing companies and which make a decisive contribution to optimising the supply chain, reducing costs, increasing transparency or improv-ing cooperation. These solutions improve competitiveness and show the way forward for other compa-nies. With its focus on out-of-the-ordinary concepts and supply chain managers, the award is being presented for the 13th time in 2018.
Modern mobility management is the focus of “Digital 4.0 meets Business Traveler 2.0”, which is being jointly organised by the German Travel Management Association (VDR) and the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME).
