Once upon a time two young drama teachers had a dream of creating a theatre company which would tour the country and perform for audiences of all ages – 40 years on and Footprints Theatre are still treading the boards and delighting thousands of children and adults every year!

But the end of 2018 will see the end of an era as we drop the final curtain on the work of the Trust. Before we go, we want to give all you wonderful schools out there a last chance to see some of our best stories ... so, quick!

We had a dream of a theatre company who would tell stories to audiences of all ages that has carried us through 40 years. As Footprints Theatre prepares to bow out, we want to take this chance to share with you some of our favourite story performances – as well as sharing with your children the idea that with hard work and determination they could achieve their own dreams for their lives in the future.

A special off-timetable day for Primary Schools celebrating a rich variety of cultures from around the world. Our dedicated day provides your school with a unique focus on Cultural Diversity, Citizenship, PHSE and Literacy. It can also slot neatly into One World Week.

One World Stories is available all year round for Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. We liaise with you in order to plan your tailor-made day, perform your choice of stories from our repertoire and also provide a creative start and finish on the day itself. Two Storytellers work alongside you and your staff throughout the day.

Caribbean: Quaka Raja A traditional Jamaican song-based story where the young but brave vegetable grower Quaka Raja, defeats the evil child-stealing monster Zobbolak. Lots of participatory fun.Key Stages 1&2

Africa: uMfana’s BlanketChildren learn Zulu words as they follow uMfana and his dog putting right a dreadful mistake which nearly kills the people of the village. Watch out for the lions!Key Stages 1&2

Australia: Tiddlalik the Toad A gathering of Australian animals who need to put right the selfish actions of the giant toad. Using rhythm and sound effects, the children help to save the day. Lots of laughter.Foundation / Key Stages 1&2

Lebanon: Akhwat ShanaiEnvironmental themes as the children help to irrigate the dry land in this true Lebanese tale. Co-operative strategies are used as characters learn not to prejudge others and their ideas.Key Stage 2

Greece: Midas & the Golden Rule Rhythm and masks help young audiences to engage with the classic tale of selfishness and calamity of having that magic golden touch. The traditional Greek Chorus is formed from your children. Key Stage 2

A wonderful whole-school RE project. Help your children to engage with Bible characters and the whole span of the Old and New Testaments. Your pupils will enjoy a rich and hugely stimulating day enjoying the colourful narratives from our two storytellers and complementary activities provided by their teachers. As off-timetable days go, this is one of the best!

The Jesse Tree is often seen carved into the screens of old churches. Our special day is designed to tell the story of the whole Bible for all ages across the primary range. However, Footprints can tailor a modified version for either FS / KS 1 or KS2. (Contact the Footprints’ office to discuss options.)

God’s Busy WeekDark. Light. Water. Earth. Sun, Moon & Stars ... A simple, delightful account of the Biblical story of the seven days of Creation with a joining-in song and a basketful of colours and props. Very suitable for Foundation Stage and their grown-ups. Foundation / Key Stage 1
