What Corporate Social Responsibility Means to ToshibaAt Toshiba, we are proud of the many accomplishments of our companies. We

produce world-class products by using innovative technologies and processes thatenhance human life and lead to a thriving, healthy society. Beyondour products, we are constantly looking to help the communitybuild a better future through a variety of charitable initiativesincluding the South County Outreach, Orangewood Children’sFoundation, ExploraVision and of course, Hoag Hospital.

Lending a Hand to Our NeighborsThe Toshiba Classic has raised over $15 million for Orange County’s Hoag Hospital.

The money raised by the Toshiba Classic has translated into the development of the Mary& Dick Allen Diabetes Center, improvements to the urgent care center, the creation of abreast cancer center and the purchase of new healthcare equipment.

Since 2010, Toshiba has supported the Orangewood Children’s Foundation, a charitydedicated to providing care for neglected children and at-risk families. Last year, thecompany raised over $23,000 through various community and employee events. In 2011,we launched an employee program known as TAIS R.O.C.K.S. (Reaching Out CreatesKids Success) which affords Toshiba employees the opportunity to get directly involvedwith Orangewood’s efforts to stop the cycle of child abuse.

Toshiba is also a proud supporter of South County Outreach which provides a host of

Toshiba America Inc.’s Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibilityservices to help our community’s substantial, but often “hidden” homeless. Our corporatecampus annually donates hundreds of pounds of canned and other non-perishable itemsto the food pantry, South County Outreach, which helps feed over 650 families per month.

Educational SupportCharitable programs that motivate and inspire youth are very important to Toshiba.

For example, ExploraVision, in its 21st year, is the world’s largest K–12 science andtechnology competition. Since its inception, more than 300,000students from the U.S. and Canada have entered, and Toshibahas awarded over $4.4 million worth of savings bonds andprizes.

The Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) is a nonprofit grant-making organization dedicated to supporting science andmathematics education in the United States. Since 1990, TAF has

donated 2,000 grants worth $10 million to 125,000 students.

Reduce, Reuse and RecycleToshiba is committed to meeting the rigorous environmental standards including the

EPA’s Energy Star rating and the Green Electronics Council’s EPEAT. Today, almost all ofour laptops have been awarded EPEAT Gold ratings, and our LED TVs are Energy Starqualified.

For the past four years, Toshiba has partnered with Goodwill of Orange County toincrease electronics reuse and recycling efforts. At local events throughout OrangeCounty and at the Toshiba Classic itself, the company has collected thousands of TVs,computers and other electronic items in order to the keep e-waste out of landfills.
