Dear members, I thank all of you for the co operation you have extended to me. I assure you that I would not disappoint you. I am in the process of updating the members directory so please give your feedback of the change in addresses. This is my Second newsletter and progressive critical suggestions are welcome. Many festivities have occurred and will occur and I extend my warm greetings to the new executive and to the new members who have joined since the conference we had at Indore, not forgetting the members since inception. The new and old members and the junior members have had a rich experience of exchange of quality biochemical articles/information. There have been one conference at Chandigarh - 16th AMBICON, a National Conference which was a grand success with many National and International speakers and delegates, quality paper presentations at Barog(HP),and above all inaugurated by none other than the former President of India and a great Scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. - conducted by Dr. Jasbinder Kaur and another CME at Rohtak by our president elect Dr.Veena Singh Ghalaut. See Pictures The 17th Annual conference of the association of Medical Biochemists of India will be held at Sevagram/Wardha as had been decided in Chandigarh. The dates for the 17th AMBICON are from 11th to 13th December 2009, (details of which will provided later after hearing from Dr.Anjan Basak's first brochure). So please reserve those dates for meeting all your colleagues when you attend the conference at Sevagram/Wardha, the City where our father of the nation, MKGandhi made famous by establishing an Ashram there after Gujarat. Prof. Dr. Anjan Basak is planning a pleasant stay with other entertainments for the spouses to keep all of us busy for the three days or more.

I regret to inform you that one of our founder members and my professor and mentor is no more. She is none other than Dr.C.Sita Devi who is founder member of our Association as well as Association of Clinical Biochemists of India who left her place on earth on way to heaven on 7th March 2009. May her soul rest in peace and may she guide our association from above.

Dr.Shamali Biswas passed away in August 2008. May her soul rest in peace.

With warm regards Dr.S.Sanjeevi Rao Hon.Secretary
