A further reminder to parents that the playground equipment is out of bounds before and after school. This is in line with school policy and aligned with the DoE duty of care guidelines. There are no teachers on duty at these times and should a child be injured, even if the parent / caregiver is present, liability reverts to the school. Whilst young children are attracted to the equipment , unfortunately we have to close the area. There is however, a great playground across the road at Winnacott Oval. Jason Shapcott Principal It is hard to believe that we are now in Week Eight of Term Two, almost half way through the 2017 school year! To date, it has been a very productive semester, with special events, carnivals and reward days. The Reward Day last week was a huge success. Nexus again produced a show that was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyed by all classes. Invites to the Reward Day went to 99% of our students. These students had displayed behaviours, both in the classroom and playground, that were positive and acceptable. Well done to all these students, and a big ‘thank you’ to staff for the hard work they do in ensuring that the kids meet expectations. Summative reports will be coming home in Week 10. Teachers and Admin staff are currently in the process of writing, editing and preparing these. It is obvious from the few that I have read so far, that many students have been working very hard to achieve the best possible results in all learning areas. This Friday 16 th June is Interschool sports for Years 4 – 6. This will be at Riverton. At the last Interschool meeting, our students were again congratulated on the exemplary sportsmanship displayed by all participants. On Wednesday 21 st June the 2017 Book Fair commences. There are great bargains to be had and great ideas that are ideal for presents for those last minute birthday invitations.
