STAFF NEWS

Behind the scenes

Coleen who teaches

many of our swim

lessons has become a

lifeguard trainer/

assessor with the

Royal Lifesaving

Society. This is an

incredible achieve-

ment and is an excel-

lent career path to

which we fully sup-

port . Coleen will

continue to teach her

lessons and work as

normal but will also

conduct training

workshops which will

be beneficial to all

our current and future

lifeguards. Colleen

will be holding some

of her own private

lifeguard courses so

keep an eye out if

your interested.

Throughout the year our gym instructors are striving to de-velop fitness challenges to keep our users motivated and occupied. This year in august we held our first weight light-ing competition . There were 21 competitors between two categories, Squat and bench press. To the left is Johnny Hasset who won the bench category with 25 reps, and Edgar who won the squat category with 55 reps.

As a token of our appreciation for your continued support, this year for our annual birthday celebra-tion we held a bbq for all of our current members on a Saturday evening in August. The weather be-haved and it turned out to be a great dry evening. We had over 50 members who brought their fami-lies along with them to join some of our staff in celebrations. The kids were well entertained with our bouncy castle and adults got a chance to meet some of our staff in a social atmosphere. With Gerry, Dermot and Chris at the grill no one was poi-soned and the food was served to perfection . Well-done guys and we hope to have a second in 2011

Until Next Time......

We’ve had a action packed

year and even with things

going on behind the scenes

we’ve always put our cus-

tomers first. Our annual

customer appreciation

night will be held on the

17th of December in our

reception area. It’s a

chance for you to enjoy

some quality time with

other members and staff, it

also gives you the con-

sumer an option to high-

light any questions or con-

cerns you may have regard-

ing the centre.

We are currently taking book-

ings for our swim lessons

which will be starting the sec-

ond week of January, if your

interested make sure you book

your place soon as possible as

places are limited. It could

make a great gift and its never

to late to learn. We cater for all

levels and welcome any age

above 2 years. Parents please

be aware that children must

bring their own armbands/

swim hat and can only enter

the pool 10 minutes before the

lesson is due to start. They are

also required to be picked up 5

mins after their lesson finishes .

Thank you for your co-

operation.

That’s all the highlights for

2010, lets hope 2011 will be an

even better year . I think we all

know financially it will be a

tough year but on the positive

side as the saying go’s “ Your

Health Is Your Wealth” with-

out it then we’d have some-

thing to complain about . Stay

active and eat healthy :)

That's all folks,

Merry Christmas to you all

We are proud to announce that from January 2011 We will be a part of

the National Gp exercise referral scheme .The Referral scheme enables

Clients with medical conditions to access leisure facilities and receive the

part of managing chronic illness and the onset of medical conditions . In

August this year our gym manager Lynda roullier became the first GP

referral specialist in county Monaghan and will be working side by side any

Patients referred by local GP’s. Congrats Lynda and we look forward to

Seeing the benefits of this programme .

MLC proud to be associated with...

track the attendance of all

our studio classes, its im-

portant that everyone

signs in when entering a

class in order for us to

keep accurate records in

which we then reward our

staff on the best atten-

dance. Well done to all

our fitness instructors who

managed to achieve the

best attendance overall .

Its always a close draw

between spin ,step and

aerobics but this doesn't

rule out all the others .

Dermot and Ciaran, Shane

have been on the leader
