Key stage 3 are working on a series of creative tasks in Drama this term. Students were asked to create 3 still
images from their favourite films, with items they can find around the house. Summer has been really creative
using different items from to create her scenes, a fantastic piece of work. Well done!
ISO Monster cards A moving drama set
Greatest Showman:
I have taken one of my favourite scenes from the Greatest Showman film where
the character Anne Wheeler played by Zendaya is showing her trapeze artist skills
to the exited, thrilled audience as I show in the picture. She gracefully gliding
through the air in her performance, facing the front when she is singing to the
audience which she is in my version; it was important to find a picture to show an
audience as it is part of the circus atmosphere. She shows her emotions through
her face and the position of her body, I have used this doll as she portrays this
well. I have used this bright traditional red and white sheet for my backdrop as it
represents the circus which is a main part in the piece of drama because the set
has to resemble what is going on. I have taken this picture under a light so that it
shines on her directly as it would in a circus, and because it makes the background
seem blued so that everyone in the audience looks at her. Her head it held high
aiming out clearly to the audience so she can project he voice.
A few pages from some very professional looking Geography and Drama Homework.

Shadow Stick Experiment
The RAS is doing a quick 'citizen science' experiment this weekend for the general public across the UK.
They are asking people to input the length of the shadow of a stick measured around 1pm on the summer solstice - this weekend (Friday 19th June, Saturday 20th June, Sunday 21st June, Monday 22nd June or Tuesday 23rd June ). This will then tell them the size of the Earth! It would be great to get as many people taking part as possible.
