Votes must be placed in this ocial envelope and either delivered to the school oce or posted to Morrinsville Intermediate by 12.00pm on Thursday 30th May.  Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou Greetings to you all, Board of Trustees:  As you are aware a number of our current Board of Trustees are stepping down this year and I would like to acknowledge the wo rk of the whole board over the years. The commitment, dedication and visio n of the Board has always had our learners at the cen tre of their decision making and this has benefited ma ny students over the years. On behalf of the Morrinsville Intermediate School community I wish to thank the whole Board for their contribution to our school during their time on the Board. Gary Tomsett has been Chairman for the last 6 years at Morrinsville Intermediate School, and prior to this he had been involved in Boards at two other primary schools. Gary has worked tirelessly, and often behind the scenes, for the school. His leadership, expertise and support of the our leadership team, staff and the Board has been invaluable over the years. Gwen has been on our BOT for 9 years; and like Gary she has been involved with Boards at other school’s prior to joining the Inter- mediate board. Gwen has been partic ularly involved in the financial man agement of the school, and h as always been committed to the welfare of our students, and staff, to ensure that we were are providing support for the holi stic person. Gwen’s dedicat ion to our school is greatly admired and respected by myself and others, especially as her last child is in his final year at high school. Dave Matthews and Camero n Marshall have also been on the Boar d for the last six years. Dave as Deputy Chairman su pporting Gary; and often asking the “hard” questions needed for the school to move forward. Cameron has been involved in the financia l management of the school and over recent years the work of the Board and Colin McDonald has seen an improved financial position. Terry Casey has been the Staff Representative over the last 18 months; and he is stepping down from his position. Terry has provided energy and is the voice of staff in the decision ma king process. Teri Whaiapu is currently on the Board as the Iwi representative; this seat is an appointed one, not an elected one and Teri will be continuing on in this role. Peter Li Calsi and Matthew Judge have put their names forward in the current election. Personnel: It is with sadness that I have rece ived the resignations of Aloma Wi lliams and Jo Griffin this week. Aloma has been success ful in securing a leadership role in Invercargill. Jo is leaving to due to a change in circumstances. Playground Upgrade: Thank you to the MI- Mate’s team for assisting with rep lacing parts of the equipment on the Adv enture Playground. It is fantasti c to have all the equipment repaired and refreshed. Principal’s Chat:  A reminder that there is an open invitation for parents and whanau to come have a coffee and chat tomorrow (Friday 24 th May at 11.00am. This is completel y informal and gives us a n opportunity to talk about aspects of learning and general school li fe at Morrinsville Intermediate. Board of Trustees:

 As you are aware a number of our current Board of Trustees are stepping down this year and I would like to acknowledge the workof the whole board over the years. Most extra –curricular activities come with a

fee to be paid and the reality is that as a

school, we simply cannot aord to subsidise

individual sports fees or music lessons.

Orders and payments can be made online this

year. All students will receive information

including a secure key code for orders to be

made directly through Photolife.

Envelopes will be available for sibling photos

& anyone who does not have internet access.

Netball News

Netball fees are now due. Please pay at the school office. Thursday nightnetball managers, you ahould have collected your umpiring monies fromthe school office by now. Your $8 is to be paid each week before your team plays.

Saturday netball managers, please keep a record of the student whoumpires your game, so we are able to pay them at the end of the season.

Good luck to the Year 7A netball team who will be playing in theMorrinsville Junior Netball Tournament this Sunday.

 Also to those girls who play Morrinsville representative netball, good luckfor your season.

Sports News

To the Inter-Intermediate Soccer teams and the Inter-Intermediate Hockeyteam who will be competing in school tournaments next Tuesday; play

hard, play fair and enjoy!! A huge congratulations to our Inter-Intermediate Rugby girls. The Underswon their section (Champions!) and the Overs placed 3rd overall. Welldone girls and way to go Coach Higgy!

Finally a huge thank you to the parents and supporters of our MIS tamariki.Staff and students thank you all so much for giving up your time to coach,to taxi, to support, to cheer and to especially encourage. Your supportmakes us a great sporting school with great sporting students who havegreat sporting attitudes. We thank you!

Sport Strapping & Injury Management Workshop: If you want to knowthe basics for strapping/bandaging common injuries to the hands, knee,ankle or shoulder then this workshop is for you.
