AWARDS TERM 2 WEEK 6

BRONZE SECOND BRONZE

THIRD BRONZE SILVER

I’M HEADING TO HIGH SCHOOL

Year 6 attended an inspiring session of how to face the changes they will encounter when moving on to

High School. Paul Wade, the ex-Socceroo Captain told us his story to illustrate how he coped with

changes he has experienced in his life.

It was a personal and challenging presentation full of thought provoking ideas, fun activities and delivered

in a meaningful way. Such a good experience for the students!

Paul Wade told us not to give up on hard things and to keep on trying…because transitioning to High

School is a quick thing and you need to get used to it speedily…’You can’t control the wind but you

can turn the sails. By Kobi

Paul said a lot about being persistent in what you want to do. Learning to work with whoever you get

put with. You shouldn’t be afraid of something that’s new. He had a lot to say and it was very useful in

moving on to High School….we had fun playing soccer as well….finding someone new to work with

was fun. By Rose

I felt that it was telling us that lots of things will happen…it’s about

adapting and told us to accept change and about how to go about

solving things. It will also be ‘cool’ to make new friends when we get

there. Allow yourself to experience different things. By Liam

In the games we learnt to meet other people and how to cooperate

with people you didn’t already know. Paul was brave as he told us

about how he has coped with his own challenges. His main message

was ‘Never give up!’ So now I’m thinking about going to High School

and being ready and how to cope with the change ahead. By Lara

Thanks to Tim Cashman who helped transport a number of students

both to and from the event.

It’s time for Food Drive 2017. In conjunction with Anglicare, Dural Anglican Churches is asking for

your support to help families in need this winter. You can help by bringing in items such as tinned

food, baby supplies or even toiletries! Final collection day is Friday 16 June.

Look out for the orange bins in the school office, or in local supermarkets on the weekend of 17 &

18 June. Or maybe someone will knock on your door. However you give, it all makes a difference!
