Last week finished off wonderfully with our NAIDOC celebrations. Thank you to everyone involved. STIG WEMYSS Wednesday’s session with narrator Stig Wemyss was a hit. Students were enthralled with his characterisation. You could hear them hollowing with laughter and joy from the office. One of the organisers commented how amazing our students are and how well-mannered and engaged they were throughout the performance. Thank you to Wentworth Shire Libraries for organising such a joyful event. ATHLETICS CARNIVAL Thank you Mr Gray and to all staff and volunteers involved in yesterday’s Athletics Carnival down at McLeod Oval. The students were persistent with their effort and encouraged others along the way. Thank you also to the P&C for running the canteen. HOME ADDRESS Unfortunately we are finding some of the home addresses in our computer system incorrect due to moving house and/or other circumstances. To make it easier we are asking everyone to please complete the attached slip and return it school with current home addresses. We appreciate your assistance in this area. SCHOOL CONCERT As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, a copy of the Possum Magic show is available for those who wish to have one. If you would like a copy, please send in a thumb drive (minimum 4gb) so we can share it with you.

KINDER/1 Welcome to Week 4, Term 3. We are beginning to see the end of winter, which is lovely. Everyone had a fun day at Athletics yesterday and should have slept well last night. Kinder/1 are motoring along now and there is some very good growth beginning to occur. It is important that students keep up being read to or reading themselves at home. A reminder that students need to bring their own hats to school. This will ensure students are not sharing hats, which helps to curb the occurrence of nits. On Monday the 19th of August K/1 will be walking down to the town library and sharing in some book week activities. Have a great week everyone. Jenny Halls YEAR 1/2 Time is flying by in Year 1/2. Our Student Representative Council members for this term are Logan and Matilda. We will be going down to the Town Library at 2:15pm – 3:30pm on Monday 19th August to participate in Book Week activities. Our class will be running the morning assembly on Monday 2nd September. We look forward to seeing you there. Yvette Pomroy YEAR 3 Thanks everyone for a great week. I have been really glad to hear lots of praise about our class’ behaviour while I was away. It is great to see our values in action. Over the next few weeks we will be watching BTN as part of our literacy program. I have encouraged students to talk to you about current events and news that we see in the program. These discussions will support what we are doing in class. Cheers Brian Gray YEAR 4 Wow, this term is flying fast! Last week we celebrated NAIDOC and the children had a wonderful time participating in the organised events. Well done everybody who helped organise the day. The shirts looked amazing! Thank you to Mr Gray and the rest of the staff for another wonderful Athletics Carnival. Our school Book Week parade and activities will be held the following week on Wednesday 28th August. Start planning your costumes! Just a reminder that students need to bring in their school diaries so I can check their home reading. Enjoy the rest of the week. Jordana Shields
