MONDAY NEWS CATCH UP It was great to have our first ‘real’ assembly on Monday. Well done to our Year 6 students who have been leading our assemblies, both virtually and in person! it was also great to see Year 4 lead our virtual assembly last week. We have had a significant number of students absent lately and today was no exception. We really appreciate it when families contact the school to explain absences and we ask that this continues. If your child is away, or is going to be away, please either phone the school or send a message on Seesaw. This makes our record keeping much easier. PROMOTION It is with great excitement that I announce that Miss Sandra Marziano has finally been granted permanency as our Assistant Principal. Congratulations from all of us here at Wentworth Public School. EXTENDED LEAVE On another note, I have made the decision to take extended leave in Term 3. Miss Marziano has been appointed Acting Principal during this time and Ms Jodi White will step up to the Assistant Principal position. SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY Our school cross country will be held on Thursday, 2nd July. It will also be a chance for the children to dress in the colours of their favourite sporting team and wear their hair in a crazy ‘do’, as a charity fundraising activity. Children are asked to bring in coins for a coin line. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, families are unable to join us for this event. There will be a sausage sizzle lunch for all students who bring in coins for the coin line! SCHOOL VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS Please be advised that we will be cancelling kitchen/garden contributions for the year. We do hope to resume the program in some form in Term 3, but the school will cover the entire costs. We would still appreciate any voluntary contributions from families who are able to assist with these. HEAD LICE Just a reminder to please be vigilant in checking your child’s hair for head lice. Please check the following website for treatment options. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/headlice/Pages/treatment.aspx
