Interaction With Alumni Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized interaction with Miss Rachana Rao, proud

Alumni of VCET-CSE, 2017 pass-out. She addressed students

of fifth semester CSE B section, on 6th August 2018.

Miss Rachana Rao is a System Engineer at Infosys

Technologies Ltd located at Pune. She clearly explained how to

face interviews and expectations from the interviewer.

Student Association Inauguration Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized branch entry for second year Computer Science

students on August 25, 2018.

On Sep 5, 2018 department of CSE in association with ISTE

celebrated teacher’s day in Sri Rama Sabhabhavana.

Workshop on Enterprise Network Engineering

Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

conducted two days workshop on Enterprise Network

Engineering on 8th and 9th September 2018.

This workshop was based on Cisco Router and Switches with

Hands on Session using CISCO Packet Tracer Simulation Tool.

National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Vivekananda College

of Engineering and Technology, Puttur in association with

Association of Computer Science & Engineering Student

(ACES) jointly had organized a session on computer basics

'ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಕಲಿಯೋಣ' for Govt Primary School students on

Monday, 8th Sept at two Government schools namely Kunjur

Panja Higher Primary School and Harady Higher Primary

School. The topics covered in the session are as follows: Basics

of computer and internet,Computer hardware and software,How

Computer & internet works ,Designing web pages ,Hands-on

session on MS Tools, Browsing internet, email, web design.

NSS program co-oordinators Dr.Chetahn P D, and Ms. Sharanya

P S along with NSS volunteers co-ordinated the whole event for

the successful completion.

Workshop on Tips to Crack

Campus Placement Interviews Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized a talk by Mr.Anil kumar H , who addressed

students of final Year CS/IS, on 30th Sep 2018.

Mr.Anil kumar H completed his B.E from VTU in the year 2011

and M.Tech in Computer Science from Jain University in the

year 2013.He secured 2nd rank in M.Tech.He has worked in

Hewlett Packard Enterprise as Software Engineer. Currently he

is working as Senior Software Engineer, Bosch, Bangalore. He

has around four years of IT experience. He has visited many

colleges to give workshops. He clearly specified about his

experiences in Industry, current trends of Industry, and

preparations towards the placements.

SWACCH VCET ABHIYAAN by CSE Dept. On Oct 3, 2018 department of CSE conducted Swach VCET

Abhiyaan; i.e., to clean the campus. Students and faculty of

CSE/ISE joined together and worked to clean the campus

surroundings. Under the guidance of Prof. Mahesh Prasanna,

HOD, department of CSE, all the students and faculty cleaned

the campus i.e., ’A’ block building by 3rd semester students,

Madhu Chetana by 5th semester students, Krishna Chetana by

7th Semester Students.

Student groups were formed along with three or four faculty of

CSE and ISE departments.

We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is

expanded, and by which one can stand on one's own feet. - Swami Vivekananda

Talk on “Android Web Cloud” Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized a talk by Mr.Sagar and Mr.Deepak, who

addressed students of third Year CS/IS, on 12 Oct 2018.

Mr.Sagar and Mr.Deepak are software engineers in HPE

Company, Mangalore. They addressed the students on Android

Web Cloud.

conducted two days workshop on Enterprise Network

Engineering on 14th and 15th October 2018 for 5th Sem CS A

students.

This workshop is based on CISCO Router and Switches with

Hands on Session using CISCO Packet Tracer Simulation Tool.

The software is mainly focused towards Certified Cisco

Network Associate Academy students as an educational tool for

helping them learn fundamental CCNA concepts.

Alumni Talk Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized interaction with Mr.Rayan Sequera, proud

Alumni of VCET-ISE, 2009 pass-out. He addressed students of

fifth and seventh semester CS students, on 22 October 2018.

Mr. Rayan Sequera started his career in Robosoft Technologies

and worked there for 3.5 years. He then joined Philips and

served there for 3.5 years. In Aug 2018 , he joined Citrix

Technology.

He clearly explained how to face interviews and expectations

from the interviewer,What people from industry look for,How

to prepare for placements,How and what to be sacrificed to stay

in competition.

Workshop at Kombettu Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

conducted workshop on basic principles of computer networks

and Basic concepts of computer and IT and Internet on October

27, 2018 for II PUC and 10th students of Kombettu College.

Prof. Nithin Kurup and Prof. Sharanya,Assistant Professor,

Computer Science and Engineering, Vivekananda College of

Engineering and Technology,Puttur delivered a talk on

computer networks and data mining.Demo of wifi, switch and

LAN ,talk on basics of computer & IT and Internet was

provided.

Hands on Session on Digital Payment

Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

conducted Hands on Session on Digital Payment on October 31,

2018 for Government P.U College Students.

Prof. Pramod Kumar, Assistant Professor, Computer Science

and Engineering, Vivekananda College of Engineering and

Technology, Puttur delivered a hands on session on digital

payment.

He spoke about importance of digital payment, various methods

of digital payment and showed a demo of how to use digital

payment.

Career after Engineering Department of Computer Science and Engineering,

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur

had organized a talk by Mr. Ganesh Hebbar V, who addressed

students of third Year CS/IS/EC, on 15 Nov 2018.

Mr.Ganesh Hebbar is a Graduate in Science from Mangalore

University. As he realized that many students are moving

outside Mangalore to get trained for competitive exams, he

decided to start own venture and became Centre Director for

Mangalore and then expanded the activities to Udupi as well. He

interacted with the students and gave them guidance on what to

do after engineering.
