Thank you Cazenovia Counterpoint and Society for New Music. Your efforts and young artist mu-sicians brought us two concerts at Lakeland Park in August. We were also able to enjoy beautiful music at four of our Saturday morning Farmers Markets. The Plein Air event at Lorenzo for artists and their works were inspiring to all the community. We are so fortunate to live in a community with so much talent. The sculptures and artwork dis-played in our downtown this past month was en-joyed by many.

While we are excited to be welcoming our faculty and students back to campus, I want to assure our neighbors and community members that we are doing so following, and in many cases exceeding, CDC, NYS Education Department, and local and state health agency requirements and guidelines. The College has invested a great deal of time and energy in planning for the return to campus with precautions in place to protect the health of our faculty, staff, students, and community members like you. Some of these precautions include:

A revised academic calendar that includes an early start to the semester and cancellation of the tradi-tional fall break, allowing us to avoid sending students home during the semester or requiring their return after Thanksgiving.

A staggered move in process to reduce density and allow for distancing. Students will be arriving ac-cording to their assigned time slot August 14 through 17. Classes start August 18.

All students are required to have a negative COVID test prior to arrival.

Upon arrival, students and families will check-in at Athletic Center parking lot for a health screening before proceeding to campus to move into their residence.

All employees are also required to have COVID testing within two weeks of the start of the semester.

All employees are also required to complete a daily health screening before starting work.

We will be conducting random testing of students and employees throughout the semester.

Arrangements are in place for quarantine and isolation housing of students if needed.

Masks are required for students and staff while inside of all campus buildings.

Classrooms and other common spaces have been altered to ensure proper physical distancing.

An aggressive communications plan will remind students of the importance of following health and safety protocols on campus and in the community.

We will not host large events on campus through the fall semester. We are greatly limiting the number of visitors to our campus and requiring a health screening for those that are authorized to be on campus. The College has met many challenges over its nearly two centuries in existence and this is yet another. As we operate in this complex and challenging environment, the health and safety of our campus and surrounding community remains our top priori-ty. We will continue to consult with and monitor the guidance from local and state government and health authorities and re-spond accordingly, if warranted.

I look forward to having our students back on campus and they are looking forward to being here. Ca-zenovia provides students with a safe and caring environment to learn and grow. On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, we appreciate your being a part of this supportive community. Sincerely, Ron Chesbrough, Ph.D. President

In today’s busy world, with so much food, so little time, and so many medications and illnesses, it often feels difficult to figure out what is truly happening in our own bodies. In nutritional therapy, you will learn about what basic fundamen-tal imbalances YOU have. It’s all about your bio-individuality—that means it’s just about what YOUR body needs to feel your best and be at your optimal level every day. We explore nutrition, digestion, sugar handling, balancing miner-als and vitamins, stress, hormones, food allergies and balancing emotional stress, hydration and more. We look at the root causes and address those verses just symptom management. We use nutrition plans, supplements, as well as a behavior and lifestyle change plan that helps you reprogram and re-pattern your life in a way that works JUST FOR YOU! This is different than a traditional medical model! You get to be an active, open-minded participant in the process. This helps with the resolution of issues and the ability of you to stay with your new patterns and lifestyle! Assessment Techniques

Comprehensive Health History—We talk together to iden-tify your major stressors, what is your biggest health con-cerns, and what is a simple way for you to get started with a change you want to make to feel better. This process helps me understand your history (family and personally), as well as exposures, illnesses and more that help me determine what path to lead you on for a healthier you.

Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire( NAQ)- This com-prehensive symptom survey helps me see where you are to-day in your health, and what paths need more exploration as we work together on a plan that you choose that works for you.

Food & Mood Journal—This is a journal of what you eat and how it makes you feel over the course of a few days. This helps me determine ways to help you optimize your nutrition to combat some of the symptoms you are having.

You will get a protocol based on your goals, your stress, and life-style, and the recommendations from the assessments that would optimize your health and wellness. This will be based on what you are ready to conquer at this point, and what you feel is the most significant thing that needs changing to start feeling better right away. I offer FREE 15 minute consults to see if we are a good fit! Kate Bryant, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner 315-720-2489 [email protected] 3850 Rippleton Road, Cazenovia, NY 13035

Wow! I have been extolling the many merits of Cazenovia and CNY and it’s residents since 2006 from the Caz College station (Drivetime Downbeat at Cazenovia College and Rog-er’s List at Colgate and at 87.7 FM, and lo and behold, comes a terrific graphic and text letter from CazArts which shows in nice graphics some of what I’ve been talking about in a cou-ple of thousand PSAs for the Cazenovia area. There’s a nice well-deserved piece in there about my old friend Kim Waale. I did some radio blasts for the Art Trail a few ears ago. A welcome addition to the newsletter section. I tell my radio listeners in Europe and elsewhere to take a look at the GCACC newsletter and I talk about CASA. Now we have another one so when they come to the US they know where to go-which of course is here. As noted last month I have listeners in all the states too. I tell them to cross NY State on Rte 20 instead of the thruway. Our frequency 87.7 FM is the first seekable frequency on many car radios. The owners of this little radio station (they own big ones too) Are flabbergasted at the numbers of regular listeners we’re getting. We get discerning listeners and we steer them to the GCACC newsletter to let them know what is going on around here. The CASA letter is dormant at this time. Welcome to the CAZ ARTS newsletter! See you on the radio (said Charles Osgood)-Thursdays 5-7 pm, 87.7FM in your car, WVOA on the net. Roger DeVore [email protected]

Thursdays Roger DeVore here for your listening pleasure I have been working with Madison County And others to effect various events with listen-ers in all states, they can get in their cars and drive to beautiful Upstate where people are friendly and welcoming. I also tell listeners over-the-air that my program goes by only once. Our program tries to play only the most enjoyable music—for all ages. A program of well played old jazz gets a large regular audience. People in the rest of the world are big fans of this kind of programming. I have heard that a number of jazz societies for the kind of music I’ve been airing since 2006 has more than doubled to over 200 now. Part of the reason we grew so popular so fast is we only do 3 minutes total ads per hour. In those 3 minutes we inform our mu-sic listeners where to go for the best deal on things. Don’t forget to check out the CAZ ARTS newsletter while you’re looking at the Cazenovia Chamber Newsletter.
