Cool School News Five Cobb County schools, including our area’s Smitha Middle School, were named Title I Reward Schools by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) as part of the new state accountability system. Smitha was among the 10% of Title I schools statewide that showed the greatest improvement in student performance over the last three years on state assessments.

Title I is the section of federal law that provides additional funding for schools based on students’ economic needs. The new College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) rates schools for student achievement, academic progress over time and for closing the achievement gap for specific student groups.

We certainly saw some challenging days with the weather over the winter.

Still, as you reflect on how our neighborhood looked – during the snow days

and holidays – you must have noticed some beautiful sights. Like our holiday

contest winners’ homes! First Place: 3049 Milford Chase, Second Place: 1830

N. Milford Creek Lane. Congratulations and thank you for warming up our

subdivision with your holiday spirit!

Three reasons

that can really add up:

1. Scanning software filters through roughly

250 resumes to select about 25 candidates.

2. Recruiters only glance at a resume for about

5-7 seconds to pick 4-6 final candidates.

3. Making just 1 out of many common mistakes

in your application package could cut you out.

Let me help fortify your resume,

cover letter & LinkedIn profile.
