e have had a great start

    to 2011! With a New

    Year we are reminded

of new beginnings in life. This

week we have several new studies

    beginning. On Tuesday morning

    at 10:00 am, Pastor DeAndrea

    begins the study Saving Jesus.

This Wednesday at 6:30 pm, Pastor

DeAndrea and I begin our new

    Wonderful Wednesday studies.

    Pastor DeAndreas study isA Hop,

Skip, and a Jump Through the Bible

by J. Ellsworth Kalas, and mine

is ME: The Me I Want to Be by

John Ortberg. I pray that you will

consider one or several of these

    studies to participate in.

On the rst Sunday in February

(February 6th), we are starting a

new Sunday school class. This class

is targeted for individuals in their

20s 30s and beyond. Some of the

people interested in this class have

    young children, while others have

no children. If you are interested in

joining a Sunday school class for

    discussion, fellowship and fun, you

are invited on February 6th! The

rst study will be God Is Closer

    Than You Thinkby John Ortberg.

    This Sunday we continue our

    sermons series: New Year, New

You. The rst week, we were

reminded that God gives to each

of us new beginnings even after

disappointment in our lives and even

after we fail. We were reminded that

God is not nished with us when we

fail and that God continues to offer

us Gods grace of new beginnings.

Last Sunday, we focused on a

new perspective in life. In the midst

of a stressful life and a success-

driven society, we looked at what it

would mean to be driven not only by

success but by Gods desires for our

lives. We looked at how we could

live signicant lives for God. This

Sunday we will focus on New Gifts.

Our scripture lesson will be from 1

Corinthians 12. I hope to see you in

church as we search for the gifts that

God has given to us and to others,

and as we nd ways to share those

gifts with others. May the Lord bless

    you and keep you,

    Our Stephen Ministers Can Help

    There is a liht

in the world, a healin spirit,

    more powerful than any darkness

    we may encounter.

    We sometimes lose

    siht of this force,

when there is so much sufferin

    too much pain.

    Then suddenly,

    the spirit will emere

    throuh the lives of

    ordinary people who

    care and answer in

    extraordinary ways.
