Success StoryCBR Computer Centre

I am Madhuri, a 22 years old. I live in NangliDairy slum community. I am OrthopedicallyHandicapped Before joining Computer Course atASRA, I was a shy girl and dependable on others.ASRA’s CBR team & Computer Teacher hadvisited many times at my home to convince me tojoin computer course at their center. Theyexplained the benefits for joining computercourse to my family but me and my family werereluctant. Finally, through continuous efforts ofASRA’s team, me and my family got convinced. Iregistered myself for Computer Course at NangliDairy Center. I was very hesitant to join and evento enter the class room. With help of teacher andmy class fellows, I overcame my hesitation &shyness. During training session, I got goodknowledge of Basic course, confidence and a

positive aspect of life. I also got a chance to enjoy Educational Trip at Railway Museum during my training. It was first outing of my life. I also worked as a substitute of Nangli Dairy computer centre during the absenceof my teacher. After completion of my computer course, I got an opportunity to work in a Private Companyas a Computer Operator with starting salary of Rs.5000/ per month. It is my first job. I have also applied asa computer teacher in a Government School. ASRA’s CBR team helped me a lot for having all Governmentfacilities like Disability Certificate, Railway Concession Certificate, SDM Card, Pension, Tricycle, Wheel Chairetc.

Now, I feel proud that I am a part of ASRA. My life is now become beautiful & worth living. Through ASRA, Igot a beautiful and healthy spirit to live in with better career opportunity. I would like to thanks ASRA withthe bottom of my heart. ASRA plays a role of a pillar in a house for my happiness, smile on my face and mylife development. Thanks a lot ASRA.

Ms. Mukesh Rani, Tailoring ARTC

My name is Mukesh Rani. I am a housewife. I always wanted to do something creativeafter my basic education and desired to be independent and confident. But my parentsdidn’t allow me. Fortunately, one day I heard about different courses running at ASRA.I took admission in cutting & tailoring course and slowly I started stitching clothes.Initially I stitched my own clothes but now I am stitching clothes of my neighbors.Through this, I got confidence and am an independent women now. I am notdependent on others for small small things. In future I would like to open my ownboutique. ASRA helped to lead my life with confidence and I thank ASRA for the same.I will refer girls/women like me to ASRA so that they also live their life with dignity in the society.

All Success Stories are narrated in Hindi by the beneficiaries and translated in English.
