Mother’s Day Stall Thank you to all parents who contributed gifts for our Mother’s Day stall and for supporting our fundraising activity. Students really enjoyed visiting the Mother’s Day stall and selecting a special gift for their mum. I do hope you enjoy your Mothers’ Day celebration and the gift that was chosen for you by your child. Special Thanks to our hard working Mothers’ Day helpers: Jeanette Kurzmann, Belinda Triptree, Val Beckett, Jacqui Jobling, Kylie McCullagh and Chrissy Robinson. A special thank you also, to Beryl Henderson and Val Beckett for their donation of two beautiful hand-knitted lap rugs. The rugs will be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder. Early Arrival at School This is a reminder to all parents who may need to drop off their child at school in the morning. Drop of time is 8.30 am as this is the time staff are required to be at school and are available for student supervision. Parent Morning Tea I would like to encourage parents to attend our parent support coffee mornings. Come and meet other parents and share your thoughts, hopes, experiences over a coffee and biscuit. The next coffee morning is on Thursday 14th May at 9.30 – 11.00 in the staffroom at Mornington SDS and all parents are welcome. If you would like any more information just contact Karen at the front desk on 59756111

The students in Room 6 – Billy, Keely, Mavrick, Chris, Brendan, Will and Jack have been very busy with art, craft and gardening projects. Mothers Day is always a special time so the students planned an ex-citing gift that they could make themselves! The terracotta pots had
to be washed out and then painted- thanks to ‘Masters’ and the parents who kindly do-nated them.
Using mosaics and beads was a new skill and lots of practice making patterns with paper squares was needed before we finally
began tiling the plant pots. Gathering succulents and planting them was the next step! Along with beautiful handmade Mothers Day cards, the students are eagerly waiting now to take these special gifts home.
We are an adventurous class with visits to Mornington Park Pri-mary School library, parks such as Mornington Civic Centre, Mornington Park, Hastings Pelican Park and ,Frankston fore-shore, where the highlight for Mavrick has been the wheelchair swing- he loves it!! Of course wherever we go Billy usually meets
someone he knows! On Fridays Basketball has started with students from our class in Team 2 – lots of wins so far and very happy players return to school. Brendan has his spe-cial time on Friday morning along with Lucy, Adriana and Jack!
They have been enjoying foot spas, hand and arm massage, story time, art activities and visits from our Speech Therapist Sarah G. and Occupational Therapist Sarah M.!
